We really had a very pleasant week at the resort. The complex is quite spacious for a hotel complex, which means that the guests are well distributed. The location on the headland running east of Madeira is special - on the relatively low and young volcanic landscape compared to the rest of the island. Despite this lower location as usual in Madeira the hotels buildings are built from the coast up to a hill so there often is the necessarity to overcome a slope. There are some electric gulf cars that drive through the resort so one can call one at the reception to get a ride. The resort has a fantastic natural pool and a nice beach area with restaurant and places to relax and have a drink in the sun. The staff is very eager to behave professionally and friendly towards the guests. We especially liked the offers from and with the course instructor Nuno, who offered yoga, tai chi, mindfulness and stretching exercises. His calm and friendly manner coupled with his competence was the reason for us to attend his courses almost every day. A very special highlight was the joint hike with Nuno and his sympathetic young colleague Kelly (at this point warm greetings) to the "local mountain" and a small beach below. Only when allocating the room according to the booked price category including better services (we had booked a much larger room with a sofa and double front Sea View with a larger balcony and only got a smaller one without a sofa with only a single side sea view and a small balcony). After arrival we had to wait several hours until we were shown an alternative room, which was much worse and at the top of the slope and directly above a larger air conditioning generator. We than finally took the room of the second cheaper price category. We told the reception staff about it on departure and said that if we'd book again, they would have to promise in advance that we would get a room in the booked category. In addition, the good impression was clouded by British citizens accommodated on both sides of our room on some days, who shouted loudly in the corridor and in the rooms until late into the night (4 o'clock) and threw the doors. But what we really liked was the daily music offer with a live band in the nice Moments Lobby Bar. Particularly noteworthy are the Strawband and the Andrea and Caesar-Duo. We found the food on offer and the meal times to be very good and very extensive. It was just a pity that many hot dishes could only be eaten lukewarm, as they had cooled down by the time you were at the table. All in all we can recommend this nice place for a regenerating and fullfilling vacation!
