I recently stayed at this resort, and while the villas themselves were spacious and comfortable, the overall experience left much to be desired, starting from the moment we arrived at reception. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the name of the person who greeted us, but the welcome felt more like a list of rules about what we couldn’t do. For example, we were told we couldn’t get cutlery if we brought outside food. I get it, but do we really need all these rules thrown at us immediately? It felt a bit over the top, especially since we hadn’t even asked for cutlery yet! It gave the impression that they assumed we didn’t know how resorts work. Our booking came under a monsoon package that included a Kingfisher beer bucket. When I mentioned this, the staff member responded like I was making an unreasonable request, despite it being clearly written in our email confirmation. He kept insisting he needed to check, which made me feel like I was asking for something I didn’t deserve. I also asked about the shacks, and he told us they were closed. Oddly enough, both Horizon Café and Flying Fish, which are located at Candolim, were fully operational during our stay. When I mentioned this later, his response remained dismissive, which was frustrating. On top of that, his demeanor came across as oddly combative, and it wasn’t just towards us. I noticed he wasn’t treating other staff members well either, which felt unprofessional for a front desk role. The pool was another disappointment. It was so heavily chlorinated that our eyes started burning after just a few minutes in, making it impossible to enjoy. As for the room, some basic amenities were lacking. The instant coffee provided was a lesser-known brand, not Nescafé as one might expect, and the moisturizer in the bathroom had separated, making it unusable because it was attached to the wall and couldn’t be shaken. On the bright side, the restaurant and room service staff were a pleasure to deal with. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made some parts of the stay more enjoyable. After checkout, I realized I had left my electric toothbrush wrapped in a napkin outside the bathroom. I called the resort right away, as I was going to be back in Goa within a week. Unfortunately, they told me they couldn't find it, which added to my overall dissatisfaction, knowing for sure that I had left it behind.
