Canceled on the first day, because they turned me around to Mexico City without explaining the reason, there was no communication from the hotel, they didn’t even refund any percentage

Positives- -From a cost and location perspective, this hotel is a great value! -It’s cool that this was previously a three-story mall converted to a hotel (over 10 years ago) - makes for a great story to tell others! -There was daily maid service (which was very comprehensive).  -Bed was very comfortable. -There are lots of convenience stores and restaurants in the immediate area. A giant supermarket is within just a few minutes’ walk. -The major nightclub area (Bongo’s and such) is less than a 10-minute walk.  -A public beach is within a 5–7-minute walk. An even nicer one is about 10-minute walk away (near Bongo’s). -The ferry to Isle of Mujeres just a few minutes’ walk away.  Negatives- -It isn’t clear where the entrance of the hotel is (it’s on the side). -This hotel goes by three different names (also Essenzia de Cancun, plus Spazio Boutique Hotel). They do this for marketing purposes, but to me, it’s a little murky.    -The Wi-Fi is extremely unreliable, and when working is very slow.  Half of the six Wi-Fi’s sign-on signals did not work at all – ever!   -Water pressure was very weak.  -The hot water was only warm. -The only small window is in the bathroom, so you don’t know what time of day it is if you are in the bedroom. -The window in the bathroom did not open. -There is no phone in the room -There’s no clock in the room  

Not recommended. This hotel has a few different names: Suites Costa Cancun / Mayafair Design Hotel / Essenzia / others. This is an Older building. My door had a broken 2nd lock. The water took about 2-3 minute before it got hot. The location is hard to locate online. Not all tours understand this address. It is located across from Dreams Sands Cancun resort (back entrance). The main entrance is on the west side. The east side of the building with the two huge statues is back side when entrance on 2nd level. They had poor toiletries, that might have been leftovers I believe. They did not use the plastic newer shampoo/conditioner containers. The toile paper holder fell off. The worst part for me was the lights in the hallway are constantly on and very bright and the drapes do not cover much light at all. So it is VERY LIGHT when trying to sleep. I do not recommend a room that has waiting chairs nearby as you might hear people sit there. The walls / door do not block much sound. The internet was Poor, it disconnected many times. They had 2-3 different wifi connections. I managed to survive with their internet, and able to log onto netflix (though sometimes poor quaility). The AC worked ok enough when directly in the path. The Staff was friendly, the location is ok to walk to Hotel Zone, about 5-10min. I do not really recommend this location. Sure $44-53/night (or $35/night with the 4th night free) is cheapest for having your own room but you shouldn't expect much.

It depends on what you are looking for--if you just need a room for a great price that is clean and comfortable and in a great location, this is perfect.  It wouldn't be my first choice to spend lots of time at this hotel, but if you want that, pay a lot more and stay at a beachfront resort in the hotel zone.  It was noisy--lots of people walking the halls at all hours of the night and lots of morning noise, so if you're a light sleeper, wear earplugs.  You can walk to everything you need in the northern corner of the hotel zone from here, which is why we chose it for our last night of our week-long trip (we'd already done 3 nights at an AI and 2 nights in Holbox).
