I am very upset with the type of manager that you have. I called the hotel twice on Saturday and had no answer. When I arrived I find out that the one of the rooms that I reserved had been canceled and they told me it was because my card was declined even though I had 2 pre-authorizations on my card for the hotel. The front desk clerk was messaging with the manager who refused to be of any help until I DEMANDED to speak to him. His attitude was condecending and rude when he called the hotel and we spoke. He assured me that the clerk on duty in the morning had called me to tell me that my card had been declined and that I did not answer. He said he himself saw her call me. He told me that he had access to the call log and that he would show me the outgoing call to my number. If he couldnt that he would give me a discount. He told me that he would be there early the next morning to speak to me. I had to sleep on the floor on my first day stay because everyone had to sleep in the same room. My sister who traveled with me slipped in the shower, hit her head and sliced her ear open. I had to take her to get seen by an urgent care doctor. When I went to go talk to the manager the next morning I was informed that he would not be in until 10:30 am!!!! He didn't see me until after 11:30 am and he didn't have the call log available! He finally sent me a text message letting me know that I WAS CORRECT and that the clerk had not called me to let me know that they would be canceling the room!!!! And he only discounted $20 from my stay! I believe I should get at least a night discounted seeing that all the errors were on the hotels end! HORRIBLE!!

I stayed three nights at this well-run, well-maintained hotel for work. I know the brand well as a lifetime Platinum Reward member. They were doing some maintenance during my stay, but nothing that will affect you. The elevator's walls were covered for protection and some plastic covered some of the carpeting. The staff was friendly and efficient. I normally don't eat the complimentary hotel breakfasts, but this place actually has good ones. Each morning was different. The first day they had excellent breakfast burritos, the second day was sausage, egg & cheese on a hard roll and the third day was a small buffet. with chorizo & eggs, in additional to -lain scrambled eggs along with French toast, potatoes and the usual stuff. It's too bad other properties don't take a page from their book. There aren't a lot of hotel choices in Brownsville and I would stay here again. I have one negative thing to mention and it has no reflection on the hotel. The hotel was busy that rate for the first night was $298. Is what it is. What blew me away the nine different taxes totaling $51.46 per night. I'm not sure what the parking tax is because it was free. That's more than $300 in taxes for two rooms for three nights. I piad for my colleagues's room so I get the point. Wow.
