The front desk service is very welcoming, including invitations to dinner, etc. The breakfast is also very good and the environment is good.

Stayed here overnight with my husband after attending a friend's wedding nearby. Called ahead a day or two before to check about check in and parking and we were pleased there was no issue with us parking there all day and checking in after midnight so we could attend the wedding all day. Bed was comfortable enough but room itself did not look very clean - bedside lamps thick with dust and switches looked like they needed a wipe down. Would have expected better cleaning standard for the price we paid. Breakfast was nice - both had a full English breakfast. However, service wasn't the best. Ordered tea & coffee while shown to table but then ignored for ten minutes and had to eventually ask for someone to take our order. When we tried to get a server's attention first time, seemed like she was avoiding our gaze. Would not choose to stay here again unfortunately.

Dont take a deal and expect anything special There isn't a receptionist to answer your call... book a deal and expect to change it in any way .... NOT A CHANCE A 5 x hotel with No consideration for any one but themselves... reception staff up up there own ass... I have to say the restaurant staff are and we're fantastic but why these lads have to make it good !!!!

One little hiccup over dinner arrangements but otherwise a lovely place to stay, room clean and comfortable. Handy for the park and ride and set in lovely grounds. A beautiful water wheel was something to see. The dinner we had on our first night was enjoyed by our whole group - mussels, steak and oysters all got a nod of approval

My wife and I wanted a few days away in a spa hotel that coincided with our kids being on camp so we could be away guilt-free. The room was in an out-building made to look like a barn conversion with nice high ceilings and exposed beams but in the UK heat of 30 degrees there was no adequate cooling and the ceiling fan made it only just bearable. Bed was nice and comfy but not very clean. The room included breakfast which was a nice selection of the usual continental or cooked breakfast but if we'd paid outright for it £22 a person was a high price for it. We'd really hoped for a nice relaxing time in the spa and while it had a pool, steam room and a sauna etc but completely lacked that serene "Spa" atmosphere we were hoping for. All the other guests just treated it like a local swimming pool, they were noisy and it was not relaxing. We had bar food one night and, my word, it was pricey for what you get. The peak of this was the "cheeseboard": £15 for three pieces of cheese and two crackers. Expensive and disappointing. We also had afternoon tea for two with our deal. it was nice enough but I doubt that the sandwiches had been made on site and I suspect the scones were par baked The hotel has nice grounds with a stream and rabbits bouncing around. Overall, it was nice enough but not great value for money.

A lovely setting and on the first night the food was great. Our second night didn’t go so well. They had a function on in the marquee which severely impacted the level of service we received. We had to ask for the menu THREE times. The first time they told us they had ‘issues’ and we had to wait five minutes before we were allowed to even look at the menu. We asked again and were flippantly told again that we were required to wait a further five minutes. The waitress seemed to think this was amusing and said she would time the five minutes. A further twenty minutes passed with still no sign of the menus. I asked, a third and final time for the menus. Absolutely she said. She then proceeded to totally ignore us. No menus appeared. Finally, we gave up and drove to a nearby Indian restaurant. Appalling service and complete lack of respect for us.
