Cambria Beach Lodge

Well revitalized small lodging on Moonstone Beach. I'm sure it dates back to the golden days of PCH California motoring, but it in a good way--a window back on the past without being stuck in the past. Rooms are small, and redone in a sparse nautical style. The bedding is great. Bath is well redone. Other than the room could use a second chair and a few more hangers I can't complain and enjoyed the stay. If you are doing the coast drive thing it is perfect for a night or two, (but not where I would choose for a long visit). Parking is tight but adequate if everyone cooperates, and they have sensible rules to help. (Pickups and suburbans would need to park out front and not by their room).

Very cute, no frills beachy motel. The room is quite small, but very cozy! Can't beat the location and a sunrise walk along the boardwalk, ten steps from the front of the hotel, is totally worth it! Breakfast is additional amenity charge and in the front lobby. The bath products were AMAZING!

Perfect spot!! Right across from beach and boardwalk. Clean, cozy room. Wonderful juice, coffee and assorted loaves for breakfast. I really enjoyed the sky deck with chairs and blankets to watch the sunset! Within walking distance to two very fine restaurants. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!!

perfect location, friendly staff, loved the access to bikes. The room was standard but comfortable. we arrive around 6pm and they had the best room (the one with the view of the ocean) free. I wish they had give us the room for the same price as our room like they do in some other hotels when they give upgrades for free. I asked for it but they didn´t offer a free upgrade. The cost is the same to them if i had used that room of the one we had.

We stayed in the Beach House room for the second time. It's a small apartment upstairs with a balcony looking right at Moonstone Beach, and has a full kitchen. It is quiet and private and super clean. The location is perfect and front desk staff very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast & coffee too.

I really don’t want to tell anyone about this place and keep it my secret so it would be less booked when I want to stay, haha, but that wouldn’t be fair to the business. Super convenient location off pch, really friendly staff, immaculate rooms, perfect views, nice morning coffee and treats, so so very close to the Moonstone beach boardwalk trail. I will be bookmarking this motor lodge for all my trips to Cambria in the future. My only negatives were there wasn’t a lot of space if I wanted to work on my laptop inside the room and the mini bar and pay-to-use items take up a large portion of the table area inside your room. On the flip side, there is a nice quiet lobby to sit down and work and also the terrace that overlooks the road is a nice spot too.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the staff was amazing, super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, cute as heck, and super comfortable for my spouse and I. It has the perfect location to walk straight to the gorgeous beach, or into town. Lots of recreational trails to enjoy, and they have bikes you can check out from this hotel. It was my first time in Cambria and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend!

Very lovely accommodation right on the beach. May be the most comfortable bed I have slept on in many years. Wonderful service from the staff. (Example: Rooms do not come with a refrigerator, but they put one in for us at our request.) Lovely quality simple breakfast. Good coffee! Only shortcoming might be the rooms are a bit small. Everything else is splendid.

The Cambria Beach Lodge was a great place to stay after a day at Hearst Castle and exploring the cute little town of Cambria. It's on the Moonstone Beach area of hotels/motels, just a short drive from town. It seems that the Lodge was once an old 1950s motel but it got renovated into a cute boutique hotel with a beach vibe. The rooms don't face the ocean but the ocean is literally across the street! We lucked out with gorgeous October weather and enjoyed walking up and down the wooden boardwalk in both directions. One day it was really windy, but at least it wasn't foggy. This is the California coast, bring layers. There's free bike rentals, they're beach cruisers and I think you can only ride them on the street, not the boardwalk. We didn't use this amenity but it's available! Back to the hotel room, like I said, it was probably once a 1950s motel, and the size of the room reflects that. It's pretty cozy in there. But at least it's clean and cute. If you needed to be in your room to work on your laptop and need space, I recommend you go to the lobby, which is nicely furnished and bright. The lobby is also where the free breakfast is, and that's just coffee/tea and pastries, so don't get too excited about that. Speaking of food, there's not too many restaurant options within walking distance in this area. The Sea Chest Oyster Bar is a few steps away, but beware they are cash only and the line to get on the waiting list starts really early, we saw people brought their own lawn chairs to sit while they waited! (Not sure how early they were there, it opens at 5:30 and when we walked by at 5, the line was already super long.) Anyway, if you enjoy looking at the ocean and do not mind cozy, cute rooms, then I highly recommend the Cambria Beach Lodge!
