From our first greeting by Alzira and Diogo to our departing day breakfast we felt welcomed. Despite a language barrier, Alzira and Diogo gave us a warm introduction to the beautiful Casa and grounds and helped us get settled. Our room was cozy, comfortable and very clean. The breakfasts were great, including a homemade cake by Diogo, and one by Alvira two days later, fresh fruit from the garden was always included. On our first morning we met Maria, the manager who gave us a complete introduction and tour of the casa. She was warm, friendly, sincere and a wealth of information. We relied on her advice for visiting different areas as well as restaurants. We were never disappointed. Maria was our go to for anything we needed. Simply put, we would definitely choose Casa da Azenha if we were to return to the Douro valley Regua area, we loved it.
