Pestana Fisherman Village

We were extremely happy with the hotel and the location Camara de Lobos. Very good hotel for those looking for somewhere more intimate with historical character yet possessing all the necessary modern touches. Fabulous room overlooking the lush green courtyard. Large comfy bed, great modern shower, good WiFi and aircon. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good and the small rooftop pool (much more than just a plunge pool) and sunbeds area were clean and adequate for our use. No in-house restaurant, except for breakfast, but so many good places to eat on the doorstep.

What a beautiful setting relaxed unhurried. All staff were helpful and went above and beyond. Breakfast was excellent plenty of choice and good quality served with a smile. It was replenished so you never went to the counter and found things missing. Breakfast was served 7:30 to 10:30 so no rushing to make breakfast. The room and bed very comfortable. The pool area was again peaceful. The building has been renovated to a high a sympathetic standard. Plenty of restaurants just outside the door. Felt part of the village

Excellent hotel right in the centre of Camara de Lobos. We had a courtyard room, which was clean, modern and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was perfect: warm breads, hot & cold choices, fruit & cereals. The staff were friendly & helpful. Location was perfect for us with lots of good restaurants nearby & easy 2 minute walk to the footpath into Funchal. The rooftop terrace & pool were perfect to relax in the sun with a view of the harbour. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot wait to come back.

This was my first time in Madeira and we opted to not stay in Funchal but in this little fishing village - it was a great decision! Location is fantastic, you walk outside the door and you are surrounded by friendly bars and restaurants, and a 2 minute walk to the stunning harbour. Funchal is less than 15 minutes in a taxi or a lovely walk along the coast. Breakfast was lovely with a lot of choice. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard. I celebrated my 30th birthday whilst I was at the hotel and came back to my room to find a bottle of bubbly and a card - my family assured me that no one had asked for this so this was a lovely touch from the staff. The rooftop pool is lovely, there is no bar up there but you are welcome to bring your own drinks/snacks but no glassware. Our room was on the first floor so our balcony was eye level with the street with bars and restaurants on so was noisy on the weekend, this wasn’t a problem for me but if you are a slight sleeper - bring earplugs! Would definitely return! Thank you :)

Wow , Wow & Wow, This is Great Hotel. Staff - Excellent Location - Excellent Rooms - Excellent Beds - As comfy as I’ve known Breakfast - Excellent Pool - Excellent Walk out the Hotel and your are straight into a bustling Fishing Village with great and very reasonably priced Bars & Restaurants, The place is busy enough to provide a great atmosphere, but not so busy as to be overwhelming. Funchal is short Taxi ride away or a nice coastal walk away. Highly recommended 👍

This great little boutique hotel has everything one needs for a great getaway. It’s located about 30 mins from Funchal in a busy little village with a whole host of good restaurants and bars within walking distance, shops and a big car park also nearby. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms, whilst on the small side, are well kitted out with nice bathrooms containing great showers. Breakfast is pretty good and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. My only slight criticism is that the room’s aircon was barely adequate but the hotel let us keep it on full time even when out of the room. So all in all I’d highly recommend this hotel.

This is a little gem, the place is absolutely spotless and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Fantastic area in the middle of the village with bars and restaurants. The rooms are lovely the beds are so comfortable and the housekeeping is next to none. Easy transport around the island. Yes we would definitely recommend this hotel, small and friendly lovely pool area with a fab view. Thank you fisherman's village for a very lovely first stay in Madeira. Hope to see you soon
