I booked a stay at the Hotel Kloster Hirsau due to having to work in the area for a few days and the Hotel Kloster was the most convenient. The rooms were clean but very dated and breakfast was good but when I had to check out early due to changes with work, the owner insisted I had to pay for the duration of the booking and was rude and inflexible. I will be back in the area for work but will be staying further away to ensure I have flexibility, rather than stay in a place where they have no understanding of changing work requirements.

Das Hotel sieht von aussen gut aus, aber drinnen ist es ganz anders. Im Treppenhaus sehr penetranter Geruch nach Schwimmbad, man riecht es wirklich sehr stark. Das Zimmer hat sehr nach Abwasser gerochen und es war nicht möglich, das Zimmer zu wechseln, da das Hotel ausgebucht war. Laut Erklärung des Rezeption würde der Geruch am Wind liegen und wenn man länger das Wasser fliessen lässt würde der Geruch verschwinden… was sagt man dazu. Die Rezeptionistin war kurz angebunden und nicht freundlich. Im Zimmer gar kein 4 Sterne Komfort - kleiner TV, kein Wasserkocher, Minibar leer. Mit der Bitte und eher unwillig wurde mir eine Tasse und eine Teelöffel ausgehändigt. Das Zimmer was sauber, nur alles in die Jahre gekommen. Teppichboden. Da in der Gegend wenig Alternativen gibt, muss man hier übernachten, aber es ist kein 4 Sterne Hotel, mittelmäßige 3 Sterne. Ich hatte in Calw beruflich zu tun und es war die einzige einigermaßen annehmbare Möglichkeit. Die Gegend ist schön, aber der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel ist kein Erlebnis.

Mooi en super schoon hotel. Wij hadden een ruime kamer met goede bedden. Heerlijk kunnen zwemmen. De kok een extra pluim, deze maakte iedere dag weer een heerlijke maaltijd die prachtig werd opgediend. Ontbijt echt goed en vers met veel variatie. Bijzonder aardig personeel.

Zum Wiederkommen
Wir werden dort sicherlich wieder auskommen. Ein bürgerliches Hotel im denkmalgeschützten Gebäude mit guten Betten im adretten Zimmer, einem Bad im Charm der 90ger, allerdings mit Problemen beim warmen Wasser, auf das man 5 Minuten warten muss. Auf diesen Umstand wird der Gast zwar hingewiesen, er ist dennoch nicht umweltgerecht. Das inkludierte Frühstück war hingegen hervorragend.

Die Zimmereinrichtung ist schwer in die Jahre gekommen, mein Bett war mächtig lautstark schon alleine beim drauf sitzen. Personal freundlich und ein durchaus erwähnenswert gutes Frühstück. Preise in der Gastro sind meiner Meinung nach etwas abgehoben.

They have a nice outside area where you can enjoy your stay. On a Saturday we wanted to order a meal and the owner told me on the phone in a very unfriendly way that they have enough guests on Sundays and we were very late for ordering. I didn't expect that kind of behaviour. We had been there some times before and even though it is a good service, they forgot to serve the pasta one time what is disappointing regarding the higher prices there. On that special day we ddidn't complain about this error. Therefore their rude reaction on the phone was even more upsetting.

If you need to leave early, you might have problems. Nobody at reception before 8am. House is locked up. You need to pay your check the night before otherwise they get very unhappy. The restaurant was good. Waiters friendly.
Surroundings and landscape great.
Owner should accommodate early leaving guests needs. Serve earlier breakfast and allow Dropbox for keys and someone at reception in the early morning to allow easy bill pay. Thank you.
