Fabulous 3 course meal with our friends and family and had a lovely 3 course meal with soup, main course of steak and finished with ice cream. A great way to start a new year, great venue and great atmosphere. A Scottish singer and great singer and great double act.

First impressions, wouldn’t recommend to anyone, not welcoming, smells, very cold rooms, very basic, as basic as can get. bathroom mouldy around bath tub, took 10 min to get hot water, toilet kept running, had to jam flush up. room was freezing when we arrived, put heater which took a few hours to heat u, just very disappointed with hotel definitely not a 3 star hotel

I would give this place a ZERO if I could! We were on a tour. When we were seated we let them know we had one hour for lunch. We ordered our food and drinks… 30 minutes later we were notified the kitchen was behind and our food may not be out in time. We chose to walk out and go the Teahouse with 25 minutes left to get food. I highly recommend the Teahouse just right down the road. Excellent food and great service. Everything we ordered was excellent and fresh. It was also full of locals.

Our room was clean and tidy. Beds comfy enough. My pillow was great, hubby’s not so much. Shower was hot and strong. Coffee yuk. Staff friendly and Sunday lunch was great. Price was reasonable. Room was warmish, a fan was quickly delivered. Worth a visit if in a budget.

We stayed one night on 29 June 24. There was no hot water for a shower. There was no body at reception early evening. Called the number noted. No reply. Messaged the number. No reply. Was not able to have a shower. Complained this morning. But there was no offer to come to look at it to fix it or alternative shower nor discount for inconvenience. Checked out with none of us getting to have a hot shower. Very disappointing. Beds springy and uncomfortable. Loud door in bedroom hallway.

We stayed at the Dreadnought for 6 nights. NO housekeeping during this period. We bought toilet rolls and bin liners. Also, we cleaned bathroom thoroughly before use - buying bleech and anti-bacterial cleaner. Should not have to do this. Hotel shabby -in need of upgrading.

This is a very quirky and budget hotel. It needs a great deal of attention but if you go with a laid back attitude then you'll probably enjoy it. We had a lovely big room with a view over the river. The room was clean but very basic. The bed was comfy. The shower was a bit of a pain as it was hard to set the water temperature and the shower head kept slipping but we managed it. The solitary member of staff we encountered was very pleasant and helpful and worked so hard!!

Manager wasn't at all helpful. The place was a bit cold. Room was clean but in need of little TLC. Breakfast boxes. Shame as this used to be a decent place to go. Parking behind hotel was rough, uneven area. The place lacked character. But don't give up. Maybe it's going through a process of hange.
