I originally picked this hotel as I was specifically looking for overnight work accommodation, with EV destination charging available. This site has two Tesla (software locked) chargers and one 'Electric Vehicle' charger (white labelled). Unfortunately on arrival the non-Tesla charger had a fault, even after Gary and I tried multiple times to get it started. Fortunately there is a ChargePlace Scotland rapid and dual 22kW post down in the town (10-15 min walk) so I was able to get charged up by 10pm. Lauren and Gary are going to get their electrician to see whether these can all be brought back on-line and software unlocked (like JW Lee Brewery has done down in the NW England). Have three chargers available would prevent any anxiety that the charger maybe broken, or in use upon arrival, as I need to fully charge before the morning to ensure hassle free motoring to my clients. The room was modern, comfortable and spacious with everything I could possibly need for an overnight stay. The evening meal was fantastic and amazing quality, and I only wish I was staying more than a single night. The breakfast was slightly disappointing for me personally, as I didn't enjoy the thin, water porridge - I personally like creamy jumbo oat porridge with milk. This information I passed onto Lauren in the morning. Gary & Lauren were amazing hosts, where nothing was too much trouble. They were so kind, friendly and helpful. I will be returning to Scotland in the near future, and if they can get the EV chargers working then I hope to use this as my Scottish base in the future, as I hate moving from hotel to hotel.
