The White Stag Inn

Popped in for a bite to eat with my wheelchair bound brother, son and nephew last night. The whole experience was great. The staff were very friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate us all, even going as far as helping me get my bother to the gents. The food was good, drinks were chilled. What more can one ask? When it came time to leave someone was on hand to provide a ramp to enable me to get my brother safely down the few steps at the entrance. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be returning in future visits to the area.

Just went for dinner and drinks, the pub snacks were amazing, as soon as i walked in we were greeted with kindness as soon as we entered, staff are brand new and very kind, my uncle who is in a wheelchair was immediately accommodated, Even though the place was busy we were immediately served and food came quickly. Also my phone was needing charged and they offered me a charger which goes far, just the little things that make it all the better, overall would 100% recommend 👍

As a wheelchair user I seldome rate anything. I can not walk even half a step though I can transfer it's called. In all honesty I'm not ment to do this because I have osteoporosis and serious lung issues, but I do anyway. Powered wheelchairs will not get in I'm so sorry I truly am but to make it fully accessible would literally have to destroy the inside of the building then is it really a 300 plus year old building? No it's a 300 year old ruin. After my visit to this 300+ year old building i thought why not if it helps. The building is over 300 years old yet I got in no issues at all in my wheelchair. Yes I had my brother and nephews so yes it is much easier. Now this is a big but, solo id still get in because after asking there is a ramp. First off it's my disability so it's my responsibility to check in advance it is as simple as that. My country of birth Scotland gives us rights that say we have access those rights do not include 300 year old listed buildings that have more history to them than some countries do. Yet some wheelchair users can still look and get inside the same as anyone by simply asking is there wheelchair access. Sometimes yes it's not possible that's just life same as men cant have babies women can't eh tbh im struggling with what women can't do eh women can't get a prostate exam? Anyway point made sometimes in life we have to have acceptance. The white stag is not an acceptance Ask and you shall receive do not turn up unannounced in a wheelchair to a 300 year old building and expect to just roll right in without asking 1st. Even if you had to you can call the bed and breakfast as there is phone signal tell them your outside and they come let and or help you in. The bar was gorgeous the staff lovely and kind most importantly treated me like a norm not a chair. Food was good, it was busy, friendly, kind, historical and in middle of a national park what more do people want.

New owners, who were welcoming. The venue was perfect for our trip. Recommend to anyone. Menu was perfect and catered for all dietary needs. Bar was warm and freshly decorated. The locals were so welcoming. We are most definitely going back. The local area was so nice to walk.

Great break Really friendly staff. Only problem is the choice of food for dinner as they currently do not have a chef but the breakfast was really good. Wish them luck in getting the staff situation sorted like so many hotels in uK

Cosy village pub with good food Lovely cosy village pub. Nice if small bedroom but with en-suite. Very clean, good evening meal (for guests only) and good breakfast. Friendly owners Mark and Audrey are moving but the pub is staying open with new people.
