Red Roof Inn & Suites Calhoun

First, as my title states, this one night stay met our price point as we were traveling back home from FL to TN. When I heard we had been put in their 2nd building I initially was concerned but despite being more remote from the front office still felt safe. Although nothing flashy, the room did meet all the necessary check marks. Loved the blackout shades….(Clean comfortable bed, hot shower with decent water flow, cold fridge, and operating tv and lights). The 2 biggest drawbacks: wife was brushing her teeth when a huge spider came out from somewhere and really freaked her out and although it is normal for an HVAC unit to make noise when the AC compressor kicks on to maintain the set temp, this one was very loud and needs replaced…room 303. Lady at check in wasn’t rude but could have been more welcoming. Due to these later issues, we are reluctant to return again. Good luck fellow travelers!

Room was a bit smelly, and the bathroom door was poorly adjusted and does not close. Why isn’t that fixed?

The property was average. We just needed a night to rest. The bathroom was small and the towels were a bit old. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

breakfast? Breakfast was at best, a continental. cereal, oatmeal, banana coffee. the front desk helped. I should have reserved one day more, they had none available. they called a nearby hotel for my last day. thanks.

Room was dirty, especially the bathroom sink/counter/mirror and floor. The shower was grimy, too. They advertise that breakfast is included, but that’s a joke. The coffee is disgusting, the juice is more water than anything else, and they offered only extraordinarily unhealthy choices, i.e. packaged high fat muffins, honey buns, and Froot Loops cereal! There is nothing for anyone who is conscious about eating decent foods. In my humble opinion, they should not advertise that as a breakfast. It doesn’t even rate as bad snacks.

Very nice place to stay for the $$ and they cleaned the rooms everyday which has been rare at some of the places I’ve stayed over the past couple years.
