Faded glory!!! Very bad bed where you feel the springs, kitchen equipment was actually no longer there, collected together. After a few days I had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper, no drying towel, broom to sweep myself because there is no cleaning in between. In other words never again

Never again, we was put at the back with road works going on just outside also a grid in the road that every vehicle ran over it made a thumping sound. Was there for 15 days and not once did we get a maid to clean the room or give us towels or toilet roll. Even though we went to reception to complain but gave us towels and toilet roll but still never got a maid when we ran out of toilet roll again. Will be staying well away from this sheet hole.

Fuerta 1* Where to start, located a bit of a walk from any of the bars and restaurants, youll find yourself in your room eventually, the rooms are poorly designed so you cant have your window open in your room because when open, it opens onto a walkway with everyone walking past. Theres no aircon at all and the fan they give you at reception is weak and just blows the warm air round the room. The shower was okay however everytime you used it the bath would clog up with dirt and hair thats not yours (im certain on this, im bald) The seat in the livingroom area (if you can call it that) is covered in a almost plastic material you’ll stick to. Wifi is really poor too so dont plan to use that. No room service & hit and miss if at reception you get a towel, and even then the ‘fresh’ towels come with stains on The only good part is the pool was a decent size with plenty of sunbeds. The kitchen also comes fully equipped for a self catering stay.

No habia variedad!

I have just spent a week here as a solo traveler and really enjoyed it. I have stayed before so I did know what to expect however you never know which apartment you will get. Mine was fairly modern with a new bathroom. People were complaining about the beds being uncomfortable and I have had previous experience of that but this time I had a very comfortable bed and slept so good. The walk to the nearest shop is about 7 minutes and yes it is a fairly steep hill. But there are bars and restaurants there too. The walk to town, is longer and I would probably say if you walk quite fast it'll take you about 20 minutes. I walked every morning down to the sea front, along either left to the rock pool or right to atlantico. This made sure I did my 10,000 steps a day. If you are hard of walking, hard of breathing or lazy, this is not for you. Book somewhere near town like the Ereza Mar or Elba San Jorge. But if you want a quiet base, basic amenities, a lovely walk, a bar on site and plenty of sunbeds. You will love it here.

Okay, this place isn't the ultimate best. But I had to keep bearing in mind that the two of us got 2 weeks, with flights, including two 20kg bags, in the middle of January for about £760. This was frankly a couple of hundred quid cheaper than anywhere else I could find in the Canaries. That is quite simply stonkingly cheap! I've seen a real mix of reviews about this place, some great and some horrendous. And I came to the conclusion, that as per usual, the truth lies in the middle. So what did we like? We stayed in room 64 and it was south facing, the same as the majority, from what I saw, which meant the front got the sun all day. That suits us perfectly, as although we'd normally go onto the balcony, so you can just sit outside the room and sunbathe with a drink in hand. The room itself was perfectly adequate, with a cooker, microwave, kettle etc. I'm not quite sure if all the utensils were there, but we ate and cooked simple food and managed fine. A hairdyer was fitted in the bathroom. Everything worked okay, although, the front door had dropped fractionally, meaning it rubbed on the floor and we couldn't lock it until we learnt the knack of lifting the handle slightly at the same time as turning the key. We saw plenty of maintenance men around, so I'm sure if I'd actually got round to mentioning it it would have been repaired. I meant to report it as I checked out, but I forgot. The room was pleasantly large, with a large sofa/bed, a table and chairs, a sideboard and a TV, where the only British channel was Sky news. The beds were comfortable and there was adequate storage in the bedroom, which also had a safe. The bathroom was fine, with plentiful hot water and a nice shower. Nothing to compain about and overall the accommodation was perfectly adequate. The surrounding area was nothing to complain about and the pool area looked very pleasant, with sunbeds available at times, although we only really saw it while walking through. Again, it looked well maintained, to us. There's a small bar near the pool area and had a free pool table. There was no music blaring and it's all very relaxed. Which reminds me, it's very much a mixed demographic, with people of all ages, although I don't recall seeing and young children. And what didn't we like? Well, I've seen a smell mentioned a few times and I have to admit, there was in our room. It's hard to describe, but it didn't smell unpleasant and it quite frankly disappeared a couple of minutes after you walked in, because you quickly got used to it. I think I need to emphasise here, that it didn't smell unclean. If I had to guess, it's the smell of years old wood resin, which makes sense, because there's a lot of wood in the rooms. I'll emphasise again, it's not rotting wood or anything like that. It's just, well, an odd smell. If you're the sort who gets wound up easily and expects pleasant aromas, this place won't be for you. It's a small one, but the missus felt that the table was too large
