The bathroom has NO hooks at all to hang your towels. Also, there are no grab bars to get in the shower....one has to jump in to shower.

Horrible place to have your wedding here. Beware sinister experience, not worth the stress for a mediocre view. They charged 20% gratuity on everything. There is nothing luxurious about this place nor is it a resort by any means. Avoid the hassle and enjoy your wedding somewhere else

This is for, The Vista Restaurant in the hotel. The food was absolutely amazing! We both had the beef tenderloin with potato pave and root vegetables. It was delicious! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We will definitely go back to the restaurant!

am a former employee of the mount. I opened the restaurant up with the head chef and the sous chef and all was well. I went on mat leave in 2022, i had problems with them sending my record of employment so I could collect my mat leave. After that it took a while to get my t4. I went to return to work a year later in Dec 2023 they had hired a bunch of new kitchen staff (Indian) signed on contracts so they could live in the country. I was asking for 30 hours a week, they gave me 12-16 hours a week and told me they had to be fair to the other even though I was their very first employee in the kitchen that they hired and had 3 years senority on the rest of the rest of the staff. I told them i was pregnant and they then reduced my hours further to 6-10 hours a week forcing me to get another job so I could get my hours for mat leave once again. Once again I had problems getting my t4 from them and record of employement, this year I am having the same issue again. The owners and management are extremely rude and ignorant, they do not reply to any of my message or calls. If you want overpriced food cooked by unqualified people who do not have their health and safety or their food handlers certificate this is the place to go! Also they have not been paying their current employees and when they do it takes months for them to do so and their cheques bounce due to their insufficient funds in their accounts!

WOW! This place really is a hidden gem with so much character. My husband and I were celebrating a new milestone and we came to the resort for some lunch. I must say THANK YOU to Scott who looked after us so well. Two signature cocktails and a charcuterie later and I can guarantee that we I will return. The pomegranate elderflower prosecco was recommended and I have not stopped talking about it to all of my friends and family. Any staff that I came into contact with were beyond helpful and it really does feel like a home away from home. We will be back- thanks again Scott and all at the Mount Alverno Luxury Resorts; this place is a slice of heaven!

I love how secluded the property was giving that getaway feel. Its small but intimate, the staff are ALWAYS smiling, courteous and attentive. Kristen, at front desk is just the sweetest, I even received a call this morning to ensure I had breakfast which was greatly appreciated. Angelique, at their restaurant was phenomenal with her suggestions and just the perfect hostess. She checked in just enough and made me feel as though I was the only one there. The restaurant in the dining area is gorgeous and the live band was the perfect touch! One of the staff the night before whom I wish I got his name (a tall handsome man) brought me out some blankets last night to keep me warm while I was out there like how cute. Lastly, Nigel the Director of Operations responded promptly to a concern I had with my room specifically a crack in the window and was extremely generous with his compensation in taking accountability for the matter. The room with the exception of the one issue was beautiful, tastefully decorated and had just the right amount of class and elegance (giving that Homesense feel). The grounds both inside and out are breathtaking. I can't wait to return and take advantage of the views and beautiful patio. It was freezing the night of my stay and raining the next morning so I definitely need a redo I will return in a couple of weeks when the weather is much warmer. My only recommendation is to have more tower heaters throughout the patio that are on at night and during the day if need should guest opt to be on the patio but want to be comfortable during the day and night. Other than that it was EXACTLY what I needed and perfect! If you're looking to disconnect, and enjoy nature look no further. There is no pool or spa just nature, elegance, the luxurious feel and great staff! Thank you Mount Alverno❤️

This review is restricted to the restaurant, The Vista. I visited tripadvisor only after having gone, and was suprised to see only 6 reviews. Some are over the top glowing, which don't add up, and some had complaints that are entirely consistent with my own. So be wary - until they can address these it cannot be under the category of "luxury". The staff were warm and welcoming, so service was excellent, but the food was average at best and the washrooms were actually the red flag for us. Both washrooms were barely useable and clearly had not been serviced that day. Odd because, like others have said, there are surface trappings of luxury but then basic requirements are not there - so there are real plush hand towels for single use which is lovely, but no toilet paper in one stall and another out of order, and apparenlty the men's was shockingly bad (toilet not flushing, unpleasant experience for my husband). This is hospitality 101 and if I owned or managed this lovely spot I'd be washing those toilets myself if my staff didn't show up!!! Millcroft by far the better choice for the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mount Alverno Resort. The hotel is clean, spacious and very polished. The staff are courteous. Their breakfast is delicious. Definitely will come back. The bathtub was very relaxing. The TV entertainment system is a little complicated. I would suggest that some instructions (we could not find) be added in the room and all staff be trained to operate the buttons should a guest have questions.
