Very old fashioned hotel, dirty and dark. The hotel is absolutely boiling and the air con is non existent, just a fan blowing hot air into the room. Not even a bottle of water in the fridge for when we arrived. Floor boards lifting up in the room and skirting boards come off so can you see dusty concrete. Faeces was even left in our bidet! Not sure how that was missed. I really don’t know how this is a 4 star hotel.

Uno dei peggiori posti dove io abbia soggiornato, camere piccole ma la cosa peggiore è l’assenza di aria condizionata, faceva solo rumore e soffiava aria senza rinfrescarla, contattata la reception, mi hanno detto prima che funzionava, poi che era intervenuti il tecnico e successivamente che tutti gli ospiti sbagliavano a dire che non c’era aria condizionata. All’arrivo, dopo essere stati dirottati in quella struttura da EasyJet, dicevano che camere singole non ne avevano libere e che le persone si dovevano adattare a stare con sconosciuti in camera, come è accaduto a me, dimenticandosi che in quella città turistica esistono molte strutture ricettive dov’è poter inviare gli ospiti in eccesso. Da evitare.

We had a late change to our train travel plans, and were not exactly thrilled at the prospect of a night at the only half decent-looking hotel in Lamezia. But we were so wrong! It was a pleasure from start to finish. The uniformed (- a nice touch -) staff were courteous and helpful. The bar was lively, the restaurant was a bit plain but the quality of the food was first class, and very good value. The rooms were in what appeared to be a more modern part of the hotel, and were large and well-appointed, with comfy beds, a powerful shower, WiFi sockets and efficient aircon. A decent breakfast too, again served by friendly staff. And the train station (and airport, I believe) is literally on the doorstep. We never got to see Lamezia itself but would definitely stay again its Grand Hotel!

L'hotel, seppur datato e decisamente bisognoso di un rinnovamento, riesce a farsi apprezzare grazie a un elemento che fa davvero la differenza: il personale. Sin dall’arrivo, la cortesia e l’accoglienza della reception sono state impeccabili, facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio. Anche il servizio in sala è stato eccellente: il cameriere si è dimostrato professionale, attento e sempre disponibile, rendendo l’esperienza a tavola molto piacevole. Non da meno è stato il personale del bar colazione, davvero bravissimo nel gestire il servizio con efficienza e un sorriso sempre presente. In sintesi, l’hotel potrebbe migliorare molto con un restyling degli ambienti, ma il calore e la professionalità dello staff compensano ampiamente questa lacuna, rendendo il soggiorno comunque gradevole e accogliente. Consigliato a chi cerca un’accoglienza genuina più che strutture moderne

great place to stay- has cafe & restaurant
right opposite main train station (beware there are three!) old building well maintained with efficient lift. huge room on 2nd floor overlooked station but wasn’t noisy. tea & coffee (no milk) fridge with water big bathroom (but no hot water on 2nd morning which, when reported, was immediately dealt with) gigantic breakfast selection. restaurant open nightly with huge portions competitively priced- thoroughly recommend
