Mondrian Ibiza

Nice location. Nice room. Good amenities service. Love it

Located in a hill side, so be aware that even if you stay on «high» floor you can get the ground floor feeling with stairs og ground just outside your room. However the rooms are quite nice and fresh. Small bathrooms, a little sofa area which was nice. Balcony, but we had no furnitures at ours. Lobby area is really nice and so is the bar there. Great ambience, Ibiza style. Small coffee and snack shop. Friendly staff. Pool area is nice but they could have done more out of it. Not completely up to date. Food in the pool area restaurant was poor. The hotel is located in a very beautiful bay. Nice to go for a swim and just steps from the pool area. Possible to get massage and manicures by the pool area. Good vibes by the pool.

We were a group who had booked 4 rooms, so a slightly mixed review, 2 rooms had AC that worked, the others baked in a sauna situation nightly, breakfast was great and props to justine, the set up with sun beds was very off, you stay next door at The Hyde and use the facilities at the Mondrian, plus a 100 euros for a bed on top, they have placed them selves in the instagram must take a pic demographic, proved by one morning when a photographer and an assistant asked us to move as they needed to take some shots of two models for tik tok IG, the beach is idyllic as are the hotel communal areas , I’ve stayed all over the island over the years this is close to perfection but The Hyde and Mondrian need to have a very seperate proposition.

Incredibly disappointing stay at the Mondrian and certainly not up to a 5 star standard. Despite a beautiful setting and decor this hotel lets itself down massively on service: 1. First day we had no AC and despite calling constantly it took over 4 hours for anyone to attend and resolve 2. Housekeeping is a joke. Didn't clean until 5.30pm and they are rude and unprofessional and refused to carry out basic cleaning. One of them asked me if I needed to have my bedsheets changed and they left the room cluttered with food and rubbish remaining and without wet cleaning any surfaces or the bathroom. I had to raise a complaint just to have it re cleaned to an acceptable standard 3. Always a challenge to get through to reception or room service and the food at room service is quite sorry 4. Music is blasting all day long. It's impossible to sleep, relax or work during the day. This is not pacha or destino and was not expecting this kind of noise 5. I left my medication on checking out. Called to retrieve it and was told they can't locate it. Was then told it was located and I sent a driver to collect it only to be told they actually can't find it. Of course every time they said they would call back they didn't.

The Good - design is very cool, bed is comfy. The Bad - staff have no idea what service in a 5* hotel is. I think someone has forgotten to train them. It’s actually terrible and I’ve never experience anything like it in a purported 5* establishment. From the service round the pool, to reception teams they are shockingly bad and rude. It was very unexpected and it ruined the trip. We were 5 guests in 5 separate rooms and everyone had the same experience of the staff. I cannot understand why staff in such a hotel are so anti service. Additionally the air con was very poor and not working. I appreciate we were there in a heatwave but the air con was sub par. One of the rooms had their air con serviced whilst we were staying and lo and behold it started working properly. Do not eat breakfast at The Hyde. We were told the Mondrian didn’t have a buffet breakfast so went to experience The Hyde on our first morning. What an experience it was more like a hostel than a hotel. Then we found out on our second morning we were totally misinformed! Breakfast at the Mondrian was actually very good and had a buffet. More poor training/service from the check in that meant we didn’t know. If you are staying just have breakfast at the Mondrian.
