Grupotel Aldea Cala'n Bosch

We loved our stay at Grupotel Aldea! Relaxed vibe, immaculate grounds and friendly staff (special thanks to Josh, Antonio and Juanjo in the restaurant). Great variety at breakfast and dinner – from sushi and burgers to crepes and even a chocolate fountain! Rooms were airy and cool, and our apartment by the small pool was ideal. Just a minute’s walk to a little beach and five mins to Son Xoriguer beach with its amazing clear sea for snorkelling and white sand. Handy supermarket within 2 mins and easy 20 minute bus trip to Ciutadella (ask reception for times). We enjoyed the mix of different nationalities- some Brits, French, German, Dutch and Spanish. So if you’re looking for a hotel catering for Brits abroad, this isn’t it. We hired a car (organised through hotel reception) and explored the gorgeous island one day. Only small improvement would be to offer water with dinner and a tea towel and draining board in the kitchen. Overall, a fantastic stay – we’d love to come back!

A great hotel. ! Some notable things;- The cleanliness is superb, theres an army of cleaners working hard all day. The pools are immaculate, tended by a poolman every evening, honestly he works so hard, scrubbing and karchering… Don’t miss the burgers in the hotel pool cafe, better than any in the resort! The high point though is the selection at breakfast, its amazing, and lovely to see the chefs walking around checking quality and stock on the servery. Reception was so easy Rooms are clean modern and well maintained. The reception area lounge is very nice to relax in Staff in the restaurant are so helpful for kids, and did their best to make sure that allergies were catered for. Wonderful place highly recommended

2 adults, children aged 11 and 14 - family holiday 12 nights. Live in the south of England and travel allot. We’re in a 2 bedroom apartment opposite the main lower pool. Overall a positive experience, once we moved from room 80 opposite the road / supermarket to the front of the hotel in room 114. Pluses: Close to the beach. Short path lands right on the small board walk. Quiet location and family oriented. Rooms not noisy, even from other rooms above. Breakfast - good choice of things, orange machine for fresh juice was a hit with the kids. Pools large x 2. Life guards - at both pools. Pool towels included, want to keep changing them pay a small fee. Supermarket very close, well stocked with holiday items and bottled water walk short. Staff friendly (even the person who others refer to as the grumpy waiter - just found him focused on his tasks and yes slightly abrupt at times). Maid service everyday, efficient. Room 114 leads out onto the lower pool, so convenient for kids in and out. TV - has most UK light channels and Film4, so fine for a time out evening with the kids. But no chrome cast etc, Neutral items: Beach bar food was two dimensional, which is odd as the local restaurants are very good - just seemed like low effort food, burger, pizza which was not attractive. Shame as would be handy. Drinks are good there though, with the usual hotel mark up. 2 bedroom Apartment - 2nd bedroom had a double bed and was very small. 1 bathroom with a glass door meant someone taking care of business is like a Hitchcock opening scene - silhouetted. Kitchen area is very limited, thanks to other reviews we took team towels and a large knife for prep, extractor was broken, the. Freezer door was broken (cannot store kids ice creams), no draining area - ours did have a chopping board though. Microwave, toaster and hob worked as expected. Sun-beds despite so many reviews saying there were no sunbed wars people were getting up at 7 am to put out towels, the first week we were there they ran out of sunbeds and do not remove towels when people disappear for hours on end and then come back and just remove them. 2nd week was not such an issue. Negative - being told by the maintenance man via his Google translator program we could not put anything on the grass in front of our frankly titchy outside patio as the grass had been specially treated (the odour of BS was strong with that one). Overall OK really depends what you want on a holiday if you like lying on a sunbed having occasional swim having access to a beach bar et cetera then it’s fine.

This hotel is exceptional in all respects. Immaculately clean, friendly staff, great Breakfast and lovely pools just the right temperature. Our seaview room was large with very comfortable beds, 2 TVs, Kettle, Toaster, Hobs, Microwave, Dining area, Sitting area and Balcony. There is a path giving direct access to the sandy beach in a natural cove, and just 10 mins walk to the heart of the Marina with lots of Restaurants and Bars. There is also a water park within walking distance and a short bus ride to the capital Ciutadella with a great market.

Just returned from a fantastic week here- the hotel is perfect two excellent sized pools both with life guards- lots of sun loungers and parasols. Staff lovely and very friendly- immaculately clean and the food choice at breakfast amazing. Easy short walk into the harbour- and instant access to the beach. We had 2 teenagers with us and the one bedroom apartment was a great size and both had plenty of room and wardrobe space. Look forward to return visit- family memories made.

Stayed for 1 week in Aug 25, the hotel is lovely and clean. Two big pools. Plenty of sun loungers, so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve (although people still did) The food in the restaurant is really good, show cooking and great variety. The private path to the beach is an added bonus. There was live music 3 nights in the week. The hotel is quiet , no kids club/activities but plenty to do in close proximity; harbour, beach, lighthouse, aqua rock water park, boat trips (recommend Amigos) Overall an enjoyable stay! (There is an older man who is slightly grumpy & tends to provide a higher level of service to a select few, I imagine driven by tips… however you needn’t worry, a little assertiveness helps!) It has a really safe feel to the hotel! Definitely worth a visit!
