Hotel Club Es Talaial

This is the second time we have visited Es Talaial and both times we have found the: *Food varied and tasty Our most recent stay between July and August 24’ the food was varied with something for everyone. There were different meats and fish fresh on the grill each day plus your staples (for fussy children!) such as pizza, chips, nuggets etc daily. *Hotel staff friendly, approachable and hard working All hotel staff were friendly and approachable at all times and nothing was too much trouble. They were available to answer questions, advise on excursions and provide information about rooms and any extras needed such as kettles etc. *Communal areas tidy and regularly cleaned Pool areas were cleaned and washed down every evening and bins were emptied throughout the day. The small pool was emptied and refilled of an evening a few times during our stay. Restaurants were cleaned and the staff in there worked so hard. Tina was always so friendly to my 3 young children and always went above and beyond. She was always in the restaurant and really stood out to us along with Rayaz (apologies if I’ve got your name wrong!) *Local shop reasonably priced We waited until arrival to buy things like inflatables and they were all reasonably priced. Between lots of the families there, we all passed on our bits as people were coming and going. A much more eco way of doing it. *Entertainment staff FANTASTIC! The entertainment team were fantastic. They all spoke many languages which was simply remarkable. Whilst we didn’t use the kids ‘Mo’ club during the day, we did take part in other activities such as beer pong, bingo, cocktail making, smoothie making, foam party and shuffle board to name a few. The staff were always so welcoming and made the activities so much fun. My children loved the mini disco of an evening at 8:30 and we often stayed out for the adults entertainment at around 9:30. Ximena stood out to us in particular for her wonderful interpersonal skills. She made all activities such fun and always said hello if we saw her around the complex. She was very genuine, charismatic and a brilliant entertainer. So we thank you very much for all your efforts during our stay. Pools: * The main pool was very deep so be vigilant with small children. I am 5ft 6 and even in the most shallow part I had to be on my tip toes to stand up! *The 2 kids pools had a nice selection of small water slides and fountains to play in. *Splash park was fun but was off for a few days with no explanation. Other facilities: * Gym and spa- good enough equipment, however would like to see it open earlier so adults can go before the children are up for the day! Location: *Beach is across the road- lovely small cove and can get the star fish boat for an excursion. *Sunset at es forti, which is approx 10min walk from the hotel was beautiful- arrive around 20 minutes before the actual time of sunset! * 5 minute walk from gift type shops and restaurants. Lovely evening
Hotel d'Or

Our experience staying at Hotel D'Or was quite a mixed bag. Upon checking-in, Carlos gave us a quick tour of the hotel and showed us our room (room 400 - skip to the end to find out why this became a huge issue). The room was acceptably clean, albeit not immaculate, it was also quite small (for 3 people) but was fairly functional. As others have noted, we did have ants in the room for the first couple of days, but Carlos did rectify that. The room came with few luxuries and most things were paid extras (such as a kettle, which Carlos kindly gave us for free in the aftermath of the ant-issue), although we did have a working safe to use. Our room wasn't particularly private, to access the room we had to cross the terraces of multiple other rooms (although something we had never experienced before, we did get used to it). We were also overlooked slightly by an adjacent building, but we weren't in the room much during the day, so it wasn't really an issue for us. The pool and bar area was relatively small but we found it ideal for us. We had our 4 year-old with us and he loved it. It was never particularly over-crowded and it had a great vibe throughout most of the day. It's worth noting that there will likely be non-residents also enjoying the pool area, but we found no issue with this, and actually felt it enhanced the overall atmosphere. Carlos makes great cocktails and we'd recommend his sangria! To try and add some efficiency to our mornings, we paid for the breakfast option and found it to be fine. It was probably what we would have expected, with just enough to please everyone. The occasional smoked salmon was a particular highlight.   We found the staff to be mostly pleasant, we always enjoyed chatting to Carlos, Juan was very helpful, and the dark haired girl with glasses (apologies, we didn't manage to note her name) was always polite. Juan and his wife also performed some music on one of the nights, they were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it! As the hotel is so small, there is only limited staff support throughout the night, so any issues should be raised during normal hours, where possible. The location of the hotel is both good and POTENTIALLY bad. We found it was perfect for the majority of activities with our 4 year-old, such as walking to the beach, exploring the marina, or heading out for food on an evening (as he'd sometimes burn-out and require carrying back to the hotel). Now, you can't have all of these positives without some negatives. Sadly, we had a huge issue throughout our stay, and the hotel just couldn't comprehend how to fix it for us. As mentioned above, we were allocated room 400. The problem with room 400 is that it's the closest room to the square, and practically opposite a nightclub. This may have been tolerable in normal circumstances, but we also had a local fiesta to contend with, which was primarily located at said-square. With the fiesta came temporary toilets / urinals, which were located on th

The hotel was an hour on the bus from the airport. Good welcome from reception team who explained everything. Room was ready right away which was nice. We were in the main block. Our room was nice and clean, bright and lots of storage for luggage and clothing. However, room 1339 was 3 floors up above reception and was very noisy at night. Buses dropping off and collecting people woke us up several days. The hotel opposite had lots of delivery trucks, bin collection and created lots of noise. This was hard to deal with and hotel wouldn't move us. So we had to make do. Hotel was clean and tidy. Bar staff very friendly and never had to wait long for drinks. The pool area was nice. 2 different pools to choose from. The quieter one always had beds available. However they were never cleaned - table were dirty as we tended to sit in the same spot and we noticed this. I had to use wet wipes to clean them. The food was the highlight as it was amazing. Breakfast was my favourite, such choices and the freshly made omlettes were amazing. Lunchtime provided us with so many delicious salads. Dinner time sometimes you had to wait for a table but once again good variety of food to choose from. The 4 restaurants on site made a nice change too. Shops are close by and taxi into town was cheap enough 7euro. Thursday night market that was close by was nice too. Apart from the room we had a nice stay here. Good adult only Hotel.

Great value hotel, including breakfast and dinner, are buffet, very delicious! The room was very clean, I chose a room facing the sea, I woke up every day in the beautiful scenery of the sunrise on the sea, and I was in a good mood all day. The hotel has its own four swimming pools, one of which is on the shore rock, and it is especially convenient to swim in the sea and rest on the shore. In the evening, the hotel also has a bar singing, and the atmosphere is very good. And this hotel has 16 years old and above to live, so all leisure areas are very quiet, no children are noisy. In addition, we went at the end of October, it was already the end of the tourist season, so there were not many people and it was not crowded anywhere.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of years. Thankyou again to all the staff. Everyone has always been very friendly and it's clear many people return here to do the same year after year. The hotel is kept exceptionally clean, fresh and has a great location. The hotels historical history is interesting too where it was one of the first buildings constructed in Cala D'or. The hotel is modern but they have kept a traditional feel & vibe with the Ibiza white style which Cala D'or is known for, amongst the vivid green pine trees and turquoise waters. The hotels well kept grounds offer amazing garden views/sea views to Cala Petita Beach & Es Forti. It is quiet and relaxing but only a few minutes walk to the centre of Cala D'or. Recently I have only had the option to book b&b rather than half board when the upstairs restaurant has been closed during the summer. I initially missed not having the option of half board but I have enjoyed the change as you can visit the hotel's own beach bar Cala Petita which offers a quality range of drinks & food. They also hold music events regularly with bands/dj's every so often. There are also many great restaurants/cafes/bars nearby too for during the day/night. Aswell as the beach bar, the hotels pool bar also offers great food such as pizza's, pasta's, burgers, sandwiches etc. The breakfast is amazing with a choice of cereals, hot food, drinks, fruit, cakes & pastries. All the staff are always on the go. They make a real effort to keep everything running smoothly and people happy. Muchas gracias todos! :-)

My husband and I recently stayed here with our 4 month old son, our first trip abroad! The hotel was exactly what we had hoped for and more. The staff were so friendly, especially the housekeeper who made sure our room was lovely and clean daily. The room was a good size, even with a travel cot in. We were also impressed with the quality of that and our son seemed to be a fan too! We stayed in the main building so the pool was a 2 minute walk around the corner. The pool area was also very clean and relaxing, a great little sun trap. The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk to the centre, and 15 minutes to the Marina. There is also a large supermarket 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction. If I had to think of any downside it would be that were was no lift, however this didn't really impact us and we were told we could leave our pushchair on the ground floor to save taking it up and down the stairs. If we return to Cala D'or we will definitely be booking to stay here again!
