Gavimar Ariel Chico Hotel and Apartments

The entertainment team are absolutely amazing in what they do, we arrived at the hotel booked two rooms.however one of the rooms was without a fridge,kettle just 3 single beds,bathroom and balcony that was it! However we managed over all this holiday was an amazing one despite reading comments after we booked such has hair left on the pillow,cleaners don't clean the room,the cleaner was in every day! We survived also paying €1 for a cup and plate we left them until the last day and went to the bar to get the € back it's a little lovely hotel staff are very friendly but bewarned the parrot show is €20 in cash nobody mentioned this until standing in the queue to be told it's cash only! Would I stay again? Absolutely yes!!

We stayed at Gavimar Chico for my sons first holiday (he’s 1) and was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel was really clean, the staff were so friendly, and the whole place just felt really welcoming. The entertainment team were brilliant – José, David and Robin were amazing and made such a fuss of the kids, which made it feel extra special for us, my son really enjoyed this and the mini disco for the kids. Great location too, close to the beach and shops. Couldn’t have asked for a better first holiday for my son, we’ll definitely be back!

had a lovely 10 nights all inclusive.....rooms were spotless and air con was brilliant. We were a party of 8 .....5 adults, 3 children 17, 15 & 10 . Hotel in great location, 2 mins to beach, 5 mins to shops, restaurants, bars etc., Food was good but we ate out a couple of times just for a change.

The only reason this hotel is getting 2 stars is because of the entertainment team – Jose, Robin, David, and Claudia were absolutely amazing and truly the highlight of our stay. Our kids adored them, and they did everything they could to make the guests feel welcome and entertained. Honestly, if it weren’t for them, we would have left after 4 days instead of staying the full two weeks. Now, the rest of the hotel... where do I begin? Rooms: Outdated and poorly maintained. In the 2 weeks we stayed, our bed sheets were only changed once. Our youngest son had a nosebleed during the night, and there was blood on the sheets. We made it clear that we wanted them changed – instead, the same stained sheets were just put back on the bed. Completely unacceptable. Food: Very poor. Most of the meals were cold and extremely fish-heavy. If you're a big seafood lover, you might be in luck – otherwise, there's very little variety. The afternoon snacks at the pool were the same every single day. You could make yourself a hamburger, but even then, 9 out of 10 times it was cold. Drinks policy: You were only allowed two alcoholic drinks per person at a time, which was especially frustrating when you're with a group of four adults – it meant going back and forth just to get everyone a drink. All in all, the facilities and food were far below expectations, but the entertainment team saved the experience for us. Huge thanks to Jose, David, Robin, and Claudia – without you, this holiday would have been a disaster.

HONEST REVIEW: Cala D'or is absolutely beautiful. The beaches, architecture and scenery are lovely. However, please stay in another hotel. Positives of the Hotel - The distance to the beach is brilliant The garden at the rear is pretty and if you're lucky enough to get a larger room where the patio doors lead onto it you may have a better experience. The games facilities were good. eg table tennis, air hockey, volleyball and mini golf. Negatives of the Hotel - I emailed the hotel 11 months previously to ask if we could have a room which is not looking onto the road due to my son's asthma. Unfortunately, we had a room facing the noisy road. They were unable to move us when I asked on day of arrival as they said hotel fully booked. They didn't care. The size of the room was completely unacceptable for a family of 4. We were like sardines all week. This should not be an option, especially for the amount of money we paid for the room. The beds were so uncomfortable and sheets not changed all week. Also don't expect to get much sleep as the noise in the evenings until 5 am is beyond. We are not fussy people, but I really felt it was important to write a review as the standard, size and cleanliness of the room was not good enough. I truly hope they change their standards. Thankfully the beach was gorgeous so we spent the majority of our holiday there and exploring beautiful Cala d'or. The pool was too small for the amount of guests in the hotel.
