Excellent in every way. Quick helpful reception. Extremely clean well appointed room. High level of security. Enclosed storage for bikes. Good value. I was rather concerned after I had made a booking after reading a review that complained that the bedding was not changed every day. Ignore this negativity, the People gets my vote for cleanliness. One observation. The windows in the bar/ pizza area could do with a polish. They seemed a little ‘ greasy’ in the setting sun. Apart from that minor comment, perfect. I have no connections with the People. I was an unnecessarily apprehensive visitor.

I liked this small, friendly hotel. The rooms had been refurbished and on arrival, were clean and welcoming and amply big enough for short stays. There was a pleasing variety of food on the Continental breakfast and I can recommend the delicious scrambled egg! The evening meal always featured a cold buffet which was a useful addition to the set menu. I found the choice of dishes to be adequate, and the meals were well cooked. I was particularly impressed that, when our Coach party left round 5 am, there was breakfast laid out for us, same as any other day. Full marks to the hotel for this. Facilities to make tea would have been welcome as I’m not a coffee-drinker and wished I had taken my travel kettle and maybe another shelf space for clothes? I stayed three days and enjoyed my stay. Full marks to the helpful, pleasant staff.

The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. It's a manifest flight. The first night the hotel hosted a school group, forced to ask the calm by calling the reception at 22H children cried and ran into the corridors. At 5,50 euros a breakfast, you will find only frugality, no choice and low range products. The staff is very sympathetic but the experience is unacceptable. Hotel in a quiet area, very decent bedding, possibility of making a small coffee or small kitchen. We appreciated the small terrace for the rooms on the ground floor. A little far from the city center of Caen, especially when you have walked a lot during the day, we advise you to park at the marina where there are many parking spaces. Excellent restaurant in the Vaugueux district: avenue 21. In the evening, numerous bars on rue Ecuyere and place Saint Sauveur. Lively town center, numerous shops.

Pros: The location of the apt was central and convenient. Railway station approx. 15mins walk, plenty of restaurants nearby. The view from our room towards the church behind was great, especially in the evening. There were proper blinds for the windows, covering from the sun. The bed was good and we got a good sleep, no noise from the traffic. Cons: We paid extra for the bigger room, the promise was 20m2, but the room was clearly smaller, although the bathroom was quite big - not giving that much of the value. There was any table for eating, no kettle or coffee maker. The room did not have air-conditioning, but the air flowed well, when you opened the window in the room and the bathroom. Would recommend this hotel for a overnight stop-over.

This hotel was brilliant in every way - and good value for money too. Don't be put off by the eccentric exterior, because once inside you're greeted by friendly front office staff and in no time are in your well-appointed moderately-sized room. Plenty of off-street parking as well. The hotel has a well-stocked bar at reasonable prices and an excellent restaurant serving some of the best pizzas and hamburgers in Normandy. Highly recommended.

Clean, friendly, one-night no-frills stay with excellent breakfast. A good budget option for a stay before ferry or to explore Normandy beaches. Plenty of car parking space. Apartments were functional but clean and the reception staff very friendly.

We arrived late (2330) and were greeted with a smile, which was so satisfying that we had booked a caring establishment. This was indeed true. Every member of staff met our, and we are sure would meet yours too if you book this hotel. Location is good, central for buses, shops (Especially for ladies), restaurants (some do not open on Sunday or Mondays) a supermarket, car parking. Nothing was any trouble. The location is very good. Going out is the shopping street. Restaurant and Galeries Lafayette and Paris Spring Department Store. Caen is a few minutes walk to the cathedral and the city wall.
