This is an older hotel, but the rooms are cozy and the location is excellent, in the center of the town, not far away there is a very good Italian restaurant. The hotel spa is also great!

The old hall is in a lovely location, very old lovely decor. Our room was over looking the park. However, there were no curtains, just blinds,and the room was very light from 3.30 am.2 things out off control for the old hall was car alarms going of most of the night, and the council street cleaner, in the early morning. Next the guy at breakfast was OK,had to ask for 2 clean cups which he just looked down his nose. Next Saturday night at the bar the girls had not worked in the bar,didn't know where anything was Think if they were new,someone should have shown them everything or even stayed with them.

We have just returned from a 2 night BB & Dinner Wowcher deal at this establishment and had a most wonderful time. Ideally located in central Buxton perfect for the Pavilion Gardens and Palace Theatre. The staff were all amazing at all times, totally professional in the dinning hall and highly tentative at reception. The food and service were excellent. This is an historic building and therefore you can expect old fashion decor, utterly in keeping with the age of the establishment. That said, more effort maybe required to keep the dust at bay in the bedroom. Thank you for a most memorable stay, we shall return.

I stayed at the hotel overnight for a work training course. My room was lovely and spacious and had a very comfortable four poster bed. There was a good offering of cold and cooked food at breakfast and all the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The hotel is looking a little tired in places (carpets and flaking paintwork) but I'd still return if I was back in Buxton in the future as the pros outweigh this slight downside.

Nice ambience in a beautiful building with lovely staff and good food. Perhaps a limited menu but all our food was cooked well and delicious. We will return on our next visit to the peak district. All the crescent area of Buxton is worth a visit.

Stayed there for first time this week room gud size and clean just had to pay 6 pound a day car parking on main road to the hotel although it was free from 6pm till 8 am every day the hotel advertised free wi fi it had none when asked was told been off for nearly 3weeks as man who fix it only worked part time they should tell people this on the website only got one small shower gel each for 3days stay will not stay there again as not value for money

Just returned from an overnight stay at the old hall. Had a lovely room with a four poster bed. The hotel has so much charm and history attached to it. Parking is very convenient situated right outside the hotel with a parking permit available to purchase at reception. We did not have dinner here but the breakfast was lovely. Fresh and warm ingredients were available with lovely neat set tables. The staff are also lovely with attention to detail. Will stay here again when visiting Buxton.
