"This property is run by a nice old couple and they are really really awesome people and aunty also speak good English and will give you all the information about shaxi. Location is right in old town with a very quick walk to the main old theatre street. Rooms are beautifully decorated with all amenities, heater etc. They also have open seating space on 2nd floor where one can read books and there are even toys for kids to play, my son was so happy and kept himself busy. They helped arranged us a sharing taxi for lijiang and also helped us drop our bags to taxi pickup point. Shaxi is a must visit in itinerary to this part of Yunnan and you can simply select this place to stay and they will make sure you leave with only happiness. I wish we can visit shaxi and again one day and stay here in this cute little hotel. Thank you so much."

"Well-appointed and comfortable inn. Excellent location with easy access to attractions (some within less than 5 mins walk), yet is tucked in a quiet corner. Delicious and nutritious breakfast. Most commendable is the warm hospitality. I feel so well-taken care by everyone here. If I were to visit Shaxi again, I will definitely stay here. And do Shaxi justice by staying for at least a couple of days, and explore the vicinity."

"This is a place I will miss after I leave! 1. It is quiet, unlike the noisy area near Sideng Street. I rested very well these days and was not woken up. "Shaxi old town itself is a true gem on its own, and this place is a gem in a gem. Hidden just outside of the Shaxi old town, it's proximity to the town square （寺登街）is a big plus. The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!"

"Felt like travelled back in time staying in this beautiful courtyard. Located just outside the old town where car is still accessible which is convenient for loading/unloading of luggage. Short walk to the old town. There is heated mat on each bed during our winter stay in Dec. Western and Chinese breakfast are available."

From the moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was surrounded by a strong classical aesthetic atmosphere - blue bricks and black tiles, wooden corridors, a pool of clear water in the middle of the courtyard, dozens of koi fish shimmering in the sun, like a dynamic landscape painting. What's more surprising is the subtle fragrance of calm lines in the air, which is elegant and not greasy, and instantly soothes the impetuousness of the journey. The store manager is really super warm! He took the initiative to upgrade the room type for us for free. The original wood furniture is matched with simple and elegant fabrics. In the morning, make a pot of tea, and the green mountains in the distance are like ink and wash. Time is so slow here that you can hear the wind. "The inn is very beautiful, it is a 100 year old house, at the center of the town so it is very convenient to go visit all places. The owner is also very helpful, he helped pick up/deliver our luggages to the street where we got dropped off/departed. He also helped us to reserve seats for shared car to the next destination and answered any questions that we have (via translation apps or wechat). Everyone in the inn is friendly, highly recommended for staying in Shaxi."

"We mistakenly came to Shaxi instead of Dali old town but this hotel made it all worthwhile visiting. The personal hospitality was exceptional, the 3 versions of breakfast was so delicious and plentiful, location was great within the pedestrian only area. Rooms were very clean and charming, the attention to detail is superb. We have traveled many places and stayed at nice grand hotels such as the Ritz Carlton before but the personal service to make you feel pampered is exceptional, from the evening offerings of hot goat milk before bedtime, afternoon tea reception, parting gift, and carrying our luggage’s to meet our taxi outside the pedestrian zone was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel."

The hotel (or homestay) is conveniently located near the city center, making it easy to explore the area. The rooms are beautifully designed with a spacious, zen-inspired layout and come with a private balcony, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. We especially appreciated the in-room tea facilities, which added a thoughtful touch. Overall, we had an excellent stay and slept very well—highly recommended!"
