The Bushel by Greene King Inns

First thing I do have to stress is that if this review and rating was based solely on the staff then it would be 5/5 - they really were outstanding. Friendly, helpful and happy to help. You couldn’t ask for more. Sadly the rest of the experience lets the place down, the stairs and hall leading to the rooms are gloomy, have filthy carpets and scuffed walls very depressing all around. Entering the room wasn’t much better, dated decor, dirty carpets and scuffed and stained walls. The bathroom was practically a horror show with black mould, unidentified hair, no storage, stained loo you name it pretty grim! The breakfast was hit and miss, one day it was great and the other 2 it really wasn’t. Again, the wonderful staff do take the edge off this but it’s still very disappointing for a hotel in Greene King’s home town. In desperate need of a clean, better yet a renovation - improve your facilities to match your outstanding staff.

Bedroom was clean but black mould growing in some areas of the shower tray (corners) in the bathroom needs a deep clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night at the Bushel Inn. The accommodations were simple, but lovely. Right in the heart of the town..a perfect location to walk to everything. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Would highly recommend!

Basic but comfy Very friendly service. Hotel rooms are very dated and basic. Bed was comfy but was woken at 6am for the beer delivery which was very loud.

I must admit when we first arrived I was a little concerned, however, once inside and taken to our room I was feeling much better. Yes the stair carpet could do with an upgrade and the aesthetics are a bit tired but the room had everything you could ask for. Tea & coffee, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, fan, heater the list goes on! The bathroom was a great size and the shower hot and powerful. Towels and bed linen clean and smelt fresh. The bed was really comfy and the room not too hot or stuffy. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with both cooked and continental on offer or you can have both! We had drinks in the evening in the bar and the staff were friendly and helpful. When we checked in we were asked if we needed help with our luggage or could they help with anything else. I would recommend The Bushel to anyone who is staying in Bury and doesn't mind things looking a bit tired. Thanks for a great couple of dyas!
