Convenient location near motorway and amenities, praised staff friendliness, cleanliness, and comfortable, peaceful rooms. Breakfast options at Brief Encounter cafe were appreciated by guests.

This has been by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I prepaid for breakfast for 3 people (£17.85), but upon checking in after 3 PM, I was informed that the hotel would not be offering breakfast the next morning due to a delivery issue. This was never communicated to me prior to check-in. When I asked for a refund, the receptionist handed me a premium-rate number to call, which would have cost me additional money. My phone blocks premium numbers, so eventually, the receptionist kindly used a staff phone to make the call on my behalf. However, the customer service representative on the line was unhelpful and quite rude. She told me that because I didn’t amend the booking before 12 PM, there was nothing she could do. This is completely unreasonable—how could I amend something I wasn’t informed about until after 3 PM? I was then instructed to submit an online form to request a refund. I did this last Wednesday. As of today (Friday), I have received no response, no update, and no refund. This entire process—from lack of communication, to unhelpful customer service, to the delay in resolution—has been completely unacceptable. I expect an immediate refund and a formal apology for this experience.

Very good for an overnight stay when travelling north. I’ve stayed at many Travel Lodges on this route and this one really stood out. Immaculately clean, very friendly staff (huge thanks to the man on the front desk who helped with the car registration system). Little touches went the extra mile, like ensuring curtains were closed but windows open upon arrival during a heat wave so the room was cool. A fan was also provided without having to ask. Fairly quiet and set back from the motorway with plenty of amenities at the service station for a bite to eat. Incredibly reasonably priced.
