Our visit to Old Downton Lodge was incredible. From the peace and quiet of the surroundings, the walks in nature, through to the attentive staff, Michelin quality food (by anyone's standards) and our beautiful room, we had an amazing weekend stay. The attention to detail, and the little things, like each menu being printed, personalised for the guests. In the morning at breakfast, each room has a small info sheet personalised to them, and with the day's weather forcast and information on the local area, and walks etc. I can't recommend this place enough. We booked our second visit before leaving the first. Massive thank you to Willem, Pippa, Nick, and all the incredible team for a wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful property in a peaceful and picturesque setting. The rooms are tastefully and respectfully restored and very comfortable. The food was excellent and presented with great care. Above all the team were wonderful; everyone showed an unobtrusive interest in us and the service was impeccable. We will be returning.

Loved every aspect of our stay at Downton Lodge. Beautiful peaceful location, lovely staff, very comfortable bedroom with excellent shower and plenty of fluffy white towels in the spacious bathroom. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious.

We stayed here enroute to the Cotswolds. What a truly amazing outstanding hotel. I have stayed at many magnificent hotels around the world and in the UK but this was certainly on par with the best ‘ The room was stunning and had a huge fabulous bathroom, bed was really comfortable. We ate in the Restaurant and I was totally blown away by the level of service and food and amazing staff. Everything is so unique, and very special. I met with the owner who was charming to say the least. I wish we could have stayed longer in this amazing place. We will definitely be back.

The wonderful historical buildings, sympathetically renovated to include (discreet) modern technology make this unique. Add the efficient and friendly staff and the inventive menu and you've got aomething very special - which is why we come back !

What a fantastic place, in a beautiful setting. I love the courtyard, where tables are set discreetly amongst the planting. The room we had was wonderful…so full of character and every whim catered for. The food - breakfast as well as dinner - was divine. Just amazing!!!

Really nice hotel tucked away in the countryside a few miles from Ludlow - very quiet and rural location. Plenty of parking for residents and all rooms very close. Check in was quick and we were then offered tea outside in the garden - surrounded by swallows and other birds - really nice. Comfortable, well appointed room with a spacious bathroom and good shower. Room close to car park, bar and restaurant. Lovely place for a stay in the countryside but with historic places such as Ludlow and Croft Castle readily accessible.
