This is the best B&B. It is walkable to the many restaurants, bars, shopping etc. The place itself is very spacious, clean and the amenities were perfect. Bill is very accommodating and helped us with luggage and where to find good seafood. I would highly recommend this B&B.

We spent a glorious three days at this charming B and B. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and a pleasure to be in. The bathroom was roomy, too, and the shower a true delight. The broad selection of coffees, snacks and chilled sodas and juices were a nice touch. Bill couldn’t possibly have been nicer. Attentive but not intrusive, Bill was always available to provide good counsel about the local fare of doings and dining. And he never steered us wrong. We’ll be back.

My review is based on my booking experience with this guest house; I have not stayed there. We were excited to find this guest house for our family to be together for the 2024 eclipse. I reserved 3 rooms using my credit card and received email confirmations with their terms that I would be charged in the event of changes or cancellation on my end. At the time of the booking, I was not charged for a deposit and was not required to prepay the booking. The following day, I spoke with one of the proprietors about our upcoming two night stay during the eclipse. Two and a half months later, I was surprised to receive cancellation email notices with no explanation, and I contacted the hosts to find out what happened. I was told that it was a booking error and that new pricing and the reservation hub would be open to book at the beginning of 2024. However, I looked up the rooms we had booked, and not only were they available on the same day as our cancellation notices, but the prices had increased by 168%. I chose not to rebook the three rooms. I thought this should be on record, so I filed a complaint with the Vermont Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program. After I filed the complaint, the host contacted me and gave me information on alternative places to stay. At that point, I had already made other arrangements, and we are all set. This information is public record and can be verified by contacting the Vermont Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program.

I stayed here for a long weekend in September 2022. OK, let's start with the negatives. Hmm, I'll think of one eventually. The positives. Great location for town centre. Within easy walking distance and although slightly uphill, there's no real need to race to get there. Right away you're meet with an amazing structure and a piece of architecture that draws you to it. Bill, the owner, merry me and directed me to my room but sound the way, I noticed a LOT of music memorabilia from years back. Him and I chatted and he has some terrific stories from that bygone era. Still can't get a negate. I booked the Lakeview room, and while possibly more expensive, worth every penny. The view from the window was simply fantastic and did not betray the room title. Sadly, my suitcase with my decent camera had gone missing in London on my way there, or I would have got some incredible photos. Bill is a very knowledgeable person like others have commented on and despite not offering a full breakfast, there are things available that start your day off well. Snack bars, cereal, coffee, tea to name some. There is parking available to the rear of the property. As an additional note, Bill was very helpful in assisting me when British Airways managed to deliver my suitcase after I had left for home. Nope, no negatives. Would I stay here again? Without hesitation.

We are just back from a fabulous 3 night stay with family for our daughter's UVM graduation. 254 South Union exceeded our expectations - a great place for extended family members to stay! There was lots of room to spread out between the beautiful grounds, walking distance to town and UVM campus and, my favorite part, the well-equipped patio with comfy furniture, grill and fire pit and beautiful nightime lighting! There are also rocking chairs on the covered porch which came in handy during a brief downpour! The Guest Room is a nice size with a Queen bed and Queen pull-out (with curtain and pocket door divider) right off the patio on the first floor. The Suite was another great room with private Queen room and a single pullout sofa in a separate area off the well-equipped galley kitchen. We also occupied Lakeside which is a beautiful room with a lake view. The rooms are all comfortable and homey with beautiful architectural details and interesting belongings. Bill was a wonderful host, always making sure we had everything we needed. The beverage and snack stations were a nice touch! We are already talking about when we can go back!

We stayed 3 nights in the suite, which was immaculate and comfortable. Two window air conditioners ran very quietly and kept the suite cool during a hot, humid stretch of weather. Bill was very helpful in showing us the amenities of the property and in giving us excellent recommendations for dinner. He even made a trip to the grocery store for a few items to accommodate my food allergy.

We had a wonderful stay at 254 South Union Street Guest House. Bill welcomed us and gave great suggestions of where to go and what to do during our stay in Burlington. He had terrific suggestions for restaurants, bike rides, and hikes. Our room was terrific. It was spacious, comfortable, bright and decorated perfectly for a New England Inn. We can’t wait to return!
