The staff was very friendly Change of room without any problems because of the non-closable intermediate door, even in a much more comfortable apartment without extra charge!
The location is ok, walking distance to the beach or supermarket only recommended as a good walker.
Breakfast is rich and balanced. Adjusted to the price but also not given.
The cleanliness in the room, however, borderline. strong stains on the floor and on the walls, balcony door not closable completely warped, stains on the walls and the curtains actually to dispose of. There are many corners where you have to renew and repair something.
In the spa area solarium and steam bath broken during the whole stay. The entire area didn't appear to be cleared throughout the day, no more cups for provided water and mess in the evenings. overfilled laundry bags ect.
You can use your own cups ;)
The price is not extremely cheap and that gives you the feeling that there is more to it than that. However, there are a lot of little things that don't mean that you can't recover. There were very nice days, it remains a feeling of a shame because with a little more effort you could get regular guests. We'll try something different next time, but if there's nothing we'd come back. Too bad, a lot of potential wasted.

Entree en omgeving verwaarloosd, niets ‘Grands’ aan, voor alles bijbetalen, sauna niet aan, sfeerloze kamer, onprofessioneel personeel. Te kleine - en vooral veel te drukke - ontbijtomgeving. Marketing - tussen echte grand hotels is perfect. Maar de Van der Valk scoort op alle fronten beter.

Normally, we enjoy using the pool in this hotel, but not this time. To our surprise, some people (man, children) of Arabic origin were swimming with their clothes in the pool. They were wearing ordinary T-shorts (not suited for pools), leading to an non-hygienic situation (due to sweat and dirt in the clothes). We informed a lady at the reception about this and she promised to do something about it. However, the day after, exactly the same people were swimming again in the pool with their cloths on. Apparently, the hotel management was not able to remedy the situation. They could have put clear signs on the door of the swimming pool indicating that only normal swimming suits are allowed (and expel people from the hotel who don't follow the rules). So, because of this situation, we will not book at this hotel again. Also, nobody from the hotel staff was ever checking the situation at the pool. The hygienic situation in the rest of the hotel was also very poor because dogs are allowed here. So, if you get a room, you can be certain that there are bacteria, hairs, etc from dogs still in the room, because the carpets in the rooms can never be cleaned 100 %. A solution to this situation could be to reserve some "dirty" rooms only for people with dogs and keep the clean rooms for people without dogs.

Wir wurden an der Rezeption mit niederländisch begrüßt, unsere Fragen wurden hauptsächlich in Englisch beantwortet. Einen Flyer für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung gab es nicht, ebenso wie der versprochene Welcome Drink. Das Zimmer und das Bett waren groß aber nicht sauber, alter Teppichboden, Risse im Deckenbereich. Das Bad war gross hatte aber keine Ablagemöglichkeit und das WC war sehr niedrig, nichts für ältere Menschen. Im Innenhof gab es viele Tische und Stühle, allerdings ohne Auflage, und die Tische waren verdreckt und die Aschenbecher wurden nicht geleert. Als 4 Sterne Hotel erwarte ich auch einen barrierefreien Zugang, es führten nur Treppenstufen vom Parkplatz zum Hoteleingang. Das Frühstück war eher spartanisch, alles immer gleich, Rührei in einem Topf lauwarm, Frühstücksei noch halbflüssig. Beim Check out haben wur 18,00 € für den großen Parkplatz bezahlt, das war okay. Allerdings wurden uns auch 21,00 € für 3 Tage Touristensteuer abgezockt, da war vorher nichts zu lesen und eine Aufklärung beim Check in gab es auch nicht. Alles zusammen gefasst können wir dieses "4 Sterne" Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, ein Hotel mit viel Renovierungsstau und wenig Komfort. Vom uralten Teppichboden über durchgelegene Betten bis fehlender Seife, Haarbüscheln in der Dusche, ungepflegten Fluren bis zu einem wirklich schlechten Frühstück - wir haben uns nicht wohl gefühlt und bei dem Preis etwas ganz Anderes erwartet. Zudem man für alles extra zur Kasse gebeten wird. Nie wieder!

Vergane glorie, onhandig hotel. Lobby goed, personeel vtiendelijk. Kamer groot maar ongezellig. Er komt geen schoonmaakdienst. Dus zelf bedden opmaken... extra betalen voor parkeren 9 euro, badslippers 2 euro. Badjas 12.50 plus 50 euro borg. Diner zeer middelmatig, sommige met extra bijbetaling. Te lage nachtkastjes en te lage toiletpot die erg stinkt. Kamer absoluut niet schoon, niet gestofzogen, rommel in de hoeken van andere gasten..... er staat bij strandhotel, maar het strand is niet te zien en is erg ver lopen, zeker half uur. er is niet voor het hotel te parkeren. Ontbijt is goed, balkon bij kamer goed, mooie maat zwembad en lekker warm water.

Mooi architecturaal gebouw, zowel de binnen als de buitenkant. Mag ook wel voor die prijs. Laat je niet verleiden door de hotelnaam: duinen zijn er niet en enkel met de wagen geraak je aan de zee/duin. Maar dan het verblijf als gast… zomerterras vol ka****n op een zeldzame zomeravond: geen kaars op de tafel brandt! Een pinda of chips bij de bestelling ware ook leuk. In de badkamer de grote universele shampoobus die je ook in een standaardhotel krijgt. De bar sluit erg vroeg. Parking staat snel vol dus reken daar niet op…

Nous avons fait l'ouverture de cet hôtel il y a quelques années, malheureusement il n'est plus aussi luxueux qu'à l'époque...le petit déjeuner à diminué de moitié et reste très cher pour ce qui est proposé...les chambres sont propres mais les terrasses ne le sont pas du tout...les membres du personnel ne parlent toujours pas un mot de français, aucune chaînes télé dans notre langue (à l'heure des smart tv et pour un hôtel 4 étoiles on peut s'attendre à mieux). C'est vraiment dommage car hôtel hyper bien situé, calme et qui mériterait un coup de frais pour donner envie de revenir.

Lekker ruime kamer met een grote badkamer. Ook een terrasje buiten op de 1e verdieping overdekt! De airco deed het prima! Ruime lounge en mogelijkheid voor een uitgebreid ontbijt! Fietsendief was een makkie, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Je kunt in het gebouw zitten waar je wil en er is een ruim binnenterras.
