Burford Lodge Hotel - Adults Only

We booked this hotel for two nights as a treat for our daughter and son-in-law who were over from America. We arrived at 5.50pm on a Monday. We were told that their restaurant would be open on Thursday. When we asked about the bar, we were told it would shut at 8pm. The information in our room states..."Our bar is open every day late afternoon until late in the evening. The bar may close early if quiet." How can you know at 5.50pm that it will be quiet later? The Lodge Brasserie..."Our evening restaurant is open for guest & the public. 6.30pm to 8.45pm" So despite booking a hotel we would only get a B&B experience. I had booked a Deluxe King and a Deluxe Double room. Neither were Deluxe. In the double room the bins had not been emptied and the bathroom bin had no lining. The King room was extremely small. The dressing table was full of tea/coffee/kettle etc. There was no other table, and only one chair. Our hairdryer was a tiny travel one that overheated and cut out. The room faced a very busy road. The shower was not very powerful and sometimes went cold or stopped. On the plus side the bed and pillows were comfortable. The cooked breakfast was presented well and was tasty, but was served on cold plates. Could not recommend this hotel. We certainly did not get value for money.

Apart from the excellent location at Burford right onto the Oxford Road, Burford Lodge has plenty of parking and just stroll a few paces into this beautiful Boutique Hotel. A wonderful, warm welcome and full explanation of everything available, we were shown to our room with everything that we could possibly need for a comfortable stay and sound nights sleep. Loved the decor, coffee making facilities, bathroom & shower with plenty of towels provided. We slept soundly with the windows open and never heard the overnight rain, waking totally refreshed and ready for an incredible, perfectly cooked breakfast with juice, cereal, toast, Full English with a choice of eggs and filtered coffee. A wonderful, tasty and relaxing start to the day. The Staff/Owners were extremely Welcoming, kind and helpful throughout our stay and totally deserving of a Full 5 Star Review. I Highly Recommend the Burford Lodge and will definitely stay here again.⭐ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent hotel, quirky, central location for the Cotswolds and great food!! The rooms are looking slightly tired and are in need of some TLC, however this would not stop us staying here again. The new owners are fantastic!! Thumbs up for the Burford Lodge!!

Great stay Good location from burford town center with ample parking we were all ,booked in by mid day as room was ready friendly advice of the local bars restaurants and near by attractions .plenty of choice for breakfast on our 3 days of staying . I would recommend this hotel ,friendly staff good location whats not to like !

Having not long returned from a three night stay over new year at the Burford lodge hotel with friends, we are all of the same opinion that The Burford lodge Hotel is a lovely clean and cosy place to stay with really nice and friendly proprietor's and staff. looking forward to seeing you same time this year . thanks to all and have a great holiday.

Room cold as window was still open at 19.30 heater was not on. We put it on and it blew the kettle and the T.V. No Boxing night T.V. Attendant was helpful but fiddled with fuses to no avail. We were moved around 20hrs but as rooms were not heated until we arrived think the hotel needs an upgrade as there was no extractor in bathroom either. Will not use this Travel Lodge again!
