It is located on the main street of Burford. If you come by car, you can easily get on the main street. The breakfast menu is very varied and delicious, so I highly recommend it. At night, it becomes a very lively restaurant, including locals. It is very lively. I stayed in May, and the weather was very good and I was able to spend a refreshing time. The room we stayed in was a twin room, but it was very spacious and had a beautiful bathroom, so I was very satisfied. Because it is a historic building, the floor is a little tilted, but I highly recommend it to those who can appreciate this character. I think it is a good value for money accommodation.

This is the first time that I’ve ever had to complain about a hotel , it made our only break this year really disappointing & upsetting 😔 And I really don’t want anyone else to spend their hard working cash by stay in an awful , smelly dirty place! So the young girls that served us when we arrived & the duration of our 3days break, were very pleasant but I’m so sorry to say the whole hotel really needs a good old scrub from top to bottom, starting with the carpet up the stairs , to the landing which seemed to be there dumping area of old furniture, it also had cracks on the ceiling with old water marks & you could smell the old dirty oil coming from the kitchen as you walked up to the rooms, so as we entered to our room , the first thing I always check is the bedsheets which were the only clean thing about the hotel, thank goodness but as soon as we tried to unpack I noticed nothing had been dusted . I went to use the sink in the bathroom to wash my hands & the water wouldn’t even drain away ,anyway we went out to have a walk around the beautiful town of Burford. That evening we wanted to take a quick shower before going out for a meal but we found that we had NO HOT water & we couldn’t find anyone who could deal with the situation, so in the morning we spoke to the manager & he promised to sort it out , he actually had a plumber there already trying to sort out the men’s toilets downstairs near the bar which was a bit unpleasant as everyone from the bar / restaurant/ street had to use the the ladies restroom instead which was just one toilet with broken tiles on the floor … Not Nice for us ladies We went out for the day & when we got back the manager told us that the plumber had told him that he needs to replace the shower as it was broken & because the hotel was fully booked he couldn’t move us but he would sort out with some kind compensation for our inconvenience which I thought was decent of him So that night I thought I’ll have a bath although my husband hates baths but what else could we do but then to my disgust, I had to clean the previous occupants grime off the bath before I could run it , omg absolutely disgusting 🤮 also when I opened the cupboard in our room it had writing in the dust saying “ clean me “ , even the bowls at breakfast had old food in them ,I’m sorry but everything was so flirty & old , god only knows how it got good reviews on trip advisor It needs a whole new refurbishment & then maybe it will help to get rid of the that awful fatty , greasy smell that sticks to your hair & clothes for the rest of the day, which really isn’t pleasant. The sad thing is, the Manager was making out that he was a decent human being but it actually turns out that he is a BIG LIAR, as we’ve been home a couple of weeks now & we’ve been trying to get in touch with him every since, concerning compensation but he still won’t return our calls , how unprofessional So PLEASE be aware & don’t waste your hard earned cash & look for somew

Stopped for a sunday dinner, was cooked to perfection and was just the right amount. Hats off to the chef! All staff were friendly, drinks were served promptly and the waitress Imogen was particularly attentive and well mannered. Would definitely come again. Five stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Firstly, the staff are lovely and the location is excellent. Most of the food we ate was delicious and good value. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. We were a group of 8 friends staying for 2 nights for a birthday weekend. We were so sad to see the state of the accommodation. Aside from the little cottage, which was nicely presented and maintained, the rooms and public areas are shabby, dirty, in poor repair and in some cases downright dangerous. Damp, black mould, sticky surfaces and carpets. The entire place is soaked in the smell of stale cooking fat, windows don’t close properly so noise and smells permeate everything. I was woken by the sound of other people’s plumbing gurgling in my bath. It’s such a shame because with a bit of elbow grease, a good scrub and a bit of routine maintainance, a lot of the problems can be solved. Old buildings are quirky and prone to issues but there’s really no excuse for dirt. I hope they don’t take this to heart as they were really lovely and we had a great time, albeit in was in spite of the accommodation rather than being enhanced by it.

Mixed reviews on this hotels. Overall we had a lovely stay and enjoyed visiting this area and nearby towns/villages. The staff were very attentive and the food was very nice. We had dinner one night during our 2 night stay and it was good. Breakfast was fantastic. A range of fruit, cereal, croissants and you could order cooked food at no extra cost. The room was standard. It has everything you needed including toiletries and towels but lacked upkeep. The beds were very old and the shower was always cold or like warm. We were on the 1st floor at the front of the building and the traffic is quite loud so we didn’t sleep very well either. The tv was not working but could sign in to Netflix etc. would visit again but for the price we paid I’d probably look elsewhere. Parking was also a pain!

Love;y friendly place with excellent cuisine. We had an early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed their burgers. The staff is most friendly and you feel truly at home. They have a parking lot which is essential for a place right on the high street with busy tourist traffic

This is the first time I have ever felt the need to right a review good or bad on trip advisor. Probably the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in! Should have realised something was amiss when the hotel manager insisted on taking the money for our two night stay before she would let us in the room. If she hadn't we would have definitely done a runner & looked for an alternative accommodation. At £175.00 a night we expected more, much more. This is one very tired looking B&B, dirty threadbare carpets, tired old furniture, light bulbs not working, bath plug broken. A Bedroom entrance door that professed to be a Fire door with a 60mm gap underneath and broken door closer. Old leaks in roof/ceiling left undecorated. We were in the 1st floor front middle bedroom. The high St is very busy with wagons from around 4.30am but no internal secondary glazing? So very little sleep either! I totally understand that this is an old building but there is absolutely no need for the lack of maintenance, & upkeep. A full refurb needed. To try & keep it balanced the bedlinen & towels were clean & the staff in the bar/restaurant were very good.

Our son had booked the trip for us and paid £370 for the deluxe room. You had to access the room by very steep stairs the banister was actually vertical at the top. To be fair the info did state the stairs were steep although I doubt they would meet building regs. The room looked very tired and needed a refurb. The bathroom floor tiles were loose and the whole room looked unclean. But the most alarming aspect was there was a hatch in the wall. When we opened it was a fire escape hatch and inside was a metal ladder which you were supposed to climb down to reach the other side. We were horrified and felt it was unsafe. Breakfast was nice and staff friendly but for the money it was way overpriced
