Arrived late in the evening, checkin was fine. Arrived at our room to find that the thermostat was set to 68 deg, but the room temperature was reading 74 deg. It was cooler in the hallway than inside the room. Noticed the sign that said something like “please wait 5 minutes after turning on the A/C before it will come on” Waited 7 minutes, and no cool air was coming from the AC unit. Called the front desk and was told “we’ll send up a building engineer to take a look”. Waited 15 minutes, nobody came, nobody called to say it would take more time, nothing. Finally, around midnight I went down to the front desk and was told “oh, we’ve been having AC problems for a while, someone should have told you about it when you checked in”. Nothing was said at checkin. I even asked my sister who was standing next to me at checkin to confirm. Nothing was said. I also visited the room my brother was staying in that night and his AC was working just fine. I was then told that some people choose to leave in the middle of the night because there’s no AC. I requested a different room with functioning AC, but she said “we are fully committed tonight” The lady at the front desk offered to send up fans. However, I paid for a room with AC, not something to move around the hot air. She said she could give me some Marriot points. Hahahahaha. You think I’ll come back to a Mariot after this experience? I want my money back. So I told her I wanted a refund, and she said she would talk to her manager and send me an email. Guess what? No email.
