A very comfortable diving resort. It's just that it's inconvenient to use your hands on the island, and the lady boss is reluctant to change the towels

Overall, our experience was very disappointing. We couldn’t relax and felt constant pressure because the hotel manager kept promoting diving activities, even though we wanted to use this time to rest. We understand that it is natural for a diving hotel to promote its diving activities, and I know there is a beautiful underwater world here. If all plans had gone as expected, the flight had not been delayed for two days, and my health was good, we would have booked these activities without hesitation. But when plans are disrupted, my health must take priority. I want to emphasize again that vacations are meant for relaxation. Our stay began with significant difficulties as our flight was delayed by two days. We originally booked from August 2nd to August 6th, but actually arrived on August 4th. We informed the hotel of our delay in a timely manner and confirmed that we would not change our reservation, even though this meant we had booked four nights but could actually stay only two. We were willing to bear the cost of the unused nights, as this was not the hotel’s responsibility. During our two-night, three-day stay, the following issues occurred: During the trip, I fell ill and needed medication. Despite my poor health, the hotel repeatedly asked if I wanted to participate in various activities, including diving courses, and constantly reminded me to watch the related diving course videos, which added extra pressure on me. Regarding dolphin watching, we had agreed that if we wanted to participate, we would meet in the restaurant before 8 am; if not, we would not show up. (The dolphin-watching excursion was already booked by a family. They are four people, meeting the payment requirement. Therefore, our absence would not affect their trip. )However, at 7:40 am on the day of the excursion, someone knocked on the door to remind us about dolphin watching, which was not according to our agreement. Fortunately, we had decided the night before to participate. Additionally, we were not informed that we would need water shoes for the activity, and we found that other guests were wearing beach shoes while walking a long way back through the water to the hotel. After the activity, the management asked us if we had seen pilot whales (especially related to dolphins) because the captain had reported this to her, but the captain did not provide us with any relevant information during the trip. Due to health issues, I decided to cancel the diving course, but despite my explanation, the hotel continued to suggest I participate in snorkeling. Regarding dining, the food was delicious, but all portions were limited. Each person was assigned a fixed amount of food. When I was still hungry and asked the waiter if I could have more, I was refused. Even though we had booked full board, on the last day, we were told that lunch would require an additional payment of 190,000 Indonesian Rupiah per person. Management explained that we had eaten a lunch on the arrival day (August 4th) that was not actually included, even though we had paid for the hotel from August 2nd. This forced us to discuss with management which services should be included. Upon checkout, we were also incorrectly charged for snorkeling, even though we did not participate. When asked why I didn’t snorkel after watching the dolphins, I had to explain again that, due to health reasons, I had to avoid the sun, so we waited on the boat at that time.

What an incredibly cool diving trip we made here. The guides were really excellent. Very professional. The diving locations are bizarre. They really do their best to show you all the beautiful things from big to small. The resort is small so you are never with many divers. We even had a private tour for two days. The resort is completely focused on diving. Moreover, it is not a resort like in Bali, as some reviews seem to expect. You really feel the island life and that also means that you do not have fine dining or crystal clear fresh water. But that seemed logical to us. Just like the tropical nature ensures some green deposits in your semi-outdoor shower. That is also the charm of such a place right on the beach. What is nicer after three amazing dives than opening a Bintang with your feet in the pool? And yes, the food is at specific times, but they also come and call you when you are still hanging in your hammock. And it is super fresh! The extremely friendly and helpful staff makes it absolutely worth five stars for us. By the way, what is written here about cleaning: not true. They come every day and change your towels and bed linen once every three days, but more often if you ask. Which we did once.

Beautiful place with nice staff. You have to go there especially for diving because there is no real beach and the pool is tiny. Unlike our stay on Una Una a few days before here the equipment is great, the boats are spacious and the crew really takes care of you. Too bad there is no fresh fish at meals....

Stayed here 5 nights mid march in a Beach View Bungalow. Nice basic room and toilet/bath and a terrace facing the sea. As all other places on Bunaken is full board. Nice vacation and a good way to try Indonesia food. The staff is very nice and service minded Nice little pool. It’s a 20 min walk to the pier where the public boat arrives. We did 2 nice dives here. Quiet and peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic diving/snorkeling. There is a reef just in front of the hotel. One minus, and it has nothing to do with the hotel, is the rubbish lien on land and floating in the water. It’s probably coming from Manado, but it’s a shame for this lovely island. That’s the reason why we not rate 5/5

In our opinion, The village Bunaken resort is perhaps the best location to stay on Bunaken. Very neat and clean rooms/houses, great breakfast, lunch and dinner (a different set menu every day) which tasted great every day. The swimming pool was also a great addition. The staff (including Bibi, Fu, David, Yorry (diving instructor), the singing kitchen maids and the cleaners) ensured that we had 4 wonderful days with them. What a great hotel with very good diving and snorkeling opportunities. The diving school was also perfect. Very skilled and yet nice and small. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back here. Thank you all for our wonderful stay. Greetings Gerrie, Sheila, Jan and Linda.

The atmosphere was really relaxed. From travel mode,we could really switch towards relaxing. The staff (Fi, the singing lady's and helpers on the boat) are really nice and helpful with a lot of humor. Just for Fi we would come back😉 The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Everyone worked hard to keep the hole area clean. The food was really good, and they tried to make every mail different 👏 Then the diving, one of our reasons to be there. The owners Fu and David run the dive school with great passion. David was also our dive instructor. He is super relaxed, but doesn't miss anything what we did wrong 🫣or good😅 We couldn't wish for a better instructor ( Thanks). Bunaken is a wonderful place for snorkling or diving
