Hotel 8 de Octubre

Terrible hotel. My room was full of mold. It smelled so bad. Turning on the air conditioner just made the mold even worse because there was mold in the AC unit as well. The manager refused to refund me at all and just offered a different room. He did not guarantee that the new room would be free of mold. He also told me that they had just painted the room a few days ago, and it was already this moldy again. It was terrible. I left early.

I have been to the hotel several times and i am always satisfied, never the less I am a ahndicaped traveller and as I had a problem with the elevador the receptionist did nothing to solve it. I had to use myself the stairs for several floors until I found the reason for the problem but even after that there was no apology from side of the receptionist, which was very disappointing. That the issue if one member of the staff on the other hand, everybody else was friendly and extremly helpful.

The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were good.

The hotel was convenient, good for the price. The staff was kind and helpful. The elevators were old and noisy, but worked well. We did not like the shower design, a lot of water leaked out of the shower and we had to use several floor towels everyday.

Excellent hotel, especially considering the price. Breakfast is pretty good also. Definitely recommend

A big disappointment was the breakfast that was supposed to be included for which I was charged US$20 upon checking out for breakfast. Breakfast was fine but certainly not worth anywhere near $20 let alone when it was supposed to be included per ******* website
