For a three day visit to Budapest the Aria Hotel fitted the bill perfectly. Very central location but on a quiet side street where traffic is not allowed through without permission. The hotel is stunning; from the foyer which has the whole roof covered in glass, allowing a view through past the room balconies to the skies, to the beautifully presented rooms. Even the lifts are a nice place to be. The staff, to a person, are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Between 16:00 and 18:00 in the foyer, they served cheese and wine for all the guests, which we managed to do each day (you don't have to have wine, we had a nice cup of tea one of the days). This is a perfect time to rest your feet with a drink after walking around most of the day. Reception booked our taxis for us for the two evenings we needed one. It's worth getting the taxi through the hotel because the number plate recognition for the private road has all their taxis registered, so it speeds things up. Breakfast, which is included, was very leisurely and offered a good choice, including some hot offerings from a menu. Again, the staff were excellent. The rooms are luxurious, with a lovely bathroom and all the facilities; one of my favourite things are the electric blinds that work in all the windows and blackout the rooms; we slept very well. We visited the Skybar (worth booking in advance) one evening. This gives great views, and some lovely cocktails. I would highly recommend the Aria Budapest. You will not be disappointed.
