Mother-son city trip. Very interesting and very clean city with mostly nice people! Architecture is extremely interesting with very beautiful green spaces. A city well worth seeing. The hotel is very centrally located. We had a double room with single beds on the fifth floor. We didn't notice any noise from the rather noisy surroundings. Although we didn't open the window. The air conditioning is very good but also very loud. The furniture is old but still intact and therefore still usable. However, the carpet urgently needs cleaning.

When i got there, I was told I was too early (fair enough, check-in is from 2 pm and i got there around 11.30) I had sort of anticipated this, so thought i would just kill some time at the skybar which supposedly has a great view - but much to my surprise, I was told the skybar was closed, only open for breakfast. Must be the biggest attraction of the hotel, and in their wisdom, they close it! So instead, I took a walk heading towards the parliament building which is preety close by. When i returned a while later, room was now ready but oh by the way, the lift doesnt work! So i now had to carry luggage up the fire exit staircase (room was on 4th floor). Very narrow and poorly lit, so if you have trouble walking - good luck. Just hope you dont meet somebody coming down - passing them will be a challenge :-) Reception said lift would be fixed in a day or two!! So i made it to the room and cannot really decide what to think of it. On the one hand, it was spotlessly clean and looked very new and modern but on the other hand: No coffee / tea, There was a minibar with some wine and soft drinks but no beer,No glasses to be found anywhere (so I guess, just drink the wine from the bottle),WiFi works but not very stable - keeps dropping out. At breakfast, the skybar was now open - 2 people in front of me for the coffee machine which was quite slow - turned out they were not guests - but the breakfast room staff!. When they finally had their coffee they went straigth out onto the open terrasse for a cigarette (very small outdoor terrase and the staff now occupied 1/3 of it) and started chatting quite loudly - so terrasse is just as much for the staff - not the guests only. And really - if staff of any kind of establishment wants to have a loud discussion, do so away from the guests!! Breakfast was very poor - quite frankly pathetic! - some dry toast bread, a little bit of cheese and some slices of what looked like ham/salami - nothing warm like e.g. eggs (of course the staff were busy out on the terrasse smoking and having a loud conversation). Definately not worth any money at all - instead head out for one of the many cafes very close by. The lobby has what looks like a bar, but all they sell is coffee. Big surprise to me when late afternoon after a long walk i came back, asked for a cold beer and was told they didnt have any!! You can have some wine from the minibar, but you cant have a beer anywhere. The day of departure i waited a little in the lobby for my taxi to the airport. Need to use a bathroom?? Too bad - just like the lift, out of order. This would be fixed ”in a day or 2” so clearly not a priority for this place. Wifi, although it did work in the room - no luck in the lobby - could not connect at all. The guy in the lobby was nice enough but most of the time you will find him outside, having a smoke. All in all, extremely dissapointed with this place. Wish i had gone back to Hello Hotel instead - breakfast much much better, you can

Amazing find! DeGoya Studios was the perfect place to spend our trip to bucharest. it is on the edge of the busy old town so it is still in the center of the fun but the quiet(er) center. You do have to check in at the Rembrandt hotel but it is only 30 second away from the studios and Right on top of the Grand cafe Van Gogh so that is a perfect place for breakfast (BUT GET THERE EARLY AS AFTER WE WERE DONE THERE WAS A HUGE LINE OUTSIDE AND WE DIDN'T BOOK...) the room is compact but doesnt feel too small, there is a small kitchenette and fridge which is really handy. The bed was very comfy for me at least and there were some outlets right near the bed which was very handy. the bathroom was compact but the shower was SO good. the sink granted, was small but it didn't really inconvenience me too much it was fine. We were on the first floor (which i did request as there is no lift.) but we were rarely disturbed by any noise but i am a heavy sleeper so it doesn't bother me at all. overall it was amazing value for money, i really loved the location as well as the ease of checking in and checking out, I'm already planning on returning to bucharest and i WILL be staying at DeGoya.

We have family members that are Ukrainian Refugees that fled to safety in Bucharest. The General Manager of the Moxy Roxana-Maria Vişan was extremely empathetic and understanding to our situation. Lorena Dinescu Crew leader was equally amazing responding to all of our questions and providing incredible support for us. They provided the most special touching personalized service and hospitality to our family for 19 days. Thankfully we were able to find a permanent residence for them with friends in Breda, Netherlands. According to our family members the property has an amazing vibe, great rooms, ideal location to old town, and most importantly a friendly caring staff of employees. If you visit Bucharest you need to check out the Moxy!

We stayed here with a group of people, we were all part of an organised tour. The room was clean & the breakfast good. However the hotel appeared to need finishing, a large open hole in the ceiling of the bedroom & also the electricity suddenly disappeared (although it did return fairly promptly for us.) However on the evening of our second stay they were obviously hosting a private event in the only bar area on the twelfth floor. We were refused entry & when we returned to reception on the ground floor, Improvement we were told to go out or request room service. At almost the same time a group of Romanian guests were offered drinks, naturally we objected to this & as a good will gesture they reluctantly offered us drinks. We were then asked to pay for them to which we all refused & after several phone calls they finally accepted this. My husband & I had a pre booked transfer to travel to the airport the following day. When my husband approached reception he was told he would have to pay them 370 leu & there was no such thing booked!! Our driver arrived on time & assured us it was booked & pre-paid & duly drove us to the airport. This is not an acceptable service for a 4star hotel, possibly there may be a language barrier/ misunderstanding or it could be lack of training & knowledge or even dishonesty. Fantastic hotel with great design, very quiet and relaxing. The hotel has a modern lobby and a stylish restaurant. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Excellent and very helpful staff. They treat their customers just like family. Definitely I will recommend this hotel.

Superb location right in the heart of old town in Bucharest. Room is large with space for luggage. Breakfast are good, the staff are excellent in their service, not only friendly but also assist us in liaise with local Uber driver for transfer due to the limited driveway. Back door leads to the entrance towards the old town while the main doors are meant to go towards the subway and transport via the main road. Highly recommended if you wish to stay right in the old town and spoilt for choices to various restaurants, pubs and shops for accessibility.

This is a simple hotel that had the basic amenities but as that was all we needed we were quite happy with it. There are a couple place you can sit outside and enjoy the weather if you’d like. The only downside was they do not store luggage and the check out is early (10 am) so we had to get another day since our flight was later.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was in a great location on the edge of the old town so you can easily walk to all attractions but on a quiet street so it’s not noisy at night despite the nearby bars and clubs. Our double room was huge and actually had 2 beds, 1 double and 1 single. With a great view of city/manuc inn. Shower good. They provide shower gel. Beds comfy and love the decor/style of the hotel and rooms. Staff were friendly enough but kept to themselves. We appreciated the free water in reception but didn’t have the breakfast as felt like you could get something cheaper elsewhere so can’t comment on that. No issues at all and would recommend anyone to stay there. Please note, it’s next to the old town restaurant so the entrance isn’t very obvious. You have to go up some steep steps but once inside there is a lift. If you are getting taxis, we found the closest pick up to be Piata Roma square. It’s like a minute’s walk from there. Great price and stay.

Very happy with this hotel. Easy self check in, good location in the Old Town, very helpful manager (Cristian) who I met briefly. He also responded very promptly on WhatsApp to several questions and gave advice when I asked. Room comfortable and clean, on 2nd floor (I think all the rooms are upstairs, on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors) but there's no lift - I think help is available for carrying luggage if you ask in advance. Location is in a very busy, lively and noisy area especially at night (Friday/Saturday until around 4am!), but with the window closed the double glazing and extra soundproofing sliding screen worked very well, although I used earplugs too to get a good night's sleep, and would recommend this. Air-conditioning unit very effective and quiet. Shower good. Limited quantities of soap/shower gel/shampoo provided (sachets) but room made up daily and more available on request. A bottle of water was provided each day. Plenty of power sockets and decent amount of clothes storage. No restaurant or bar but plenty in the immediate surroundings. I stayed for 6 nights and the hotel is an excellent location for exploring Bucharest- a fascinating city. Thank you Christian for a great stay!
