Bob Fishing Club Bijagos

After reading the reviews when a friend had booked a large group of us from another friend’s recommendation I was apprehensive. All I can say is do not fully rely on reviews! The food is beyond excellent, the staff are so attentive and the private beach is amazing. All of the group, adults and children alike had a fantastic time, Sabine organized a get away to an island for the day that was beautiful, (see pics) she also organized a craft couple of hours to make baskets and ‘swords’ for the children with leaves from the forest. We could not have wished for a better get away and could not have asked for a thing more 🥰 thank you so much.

This is a very good home base if you want to explore the Bijagos archipelago. My wife and I spent 7 nights here as we explored, Orango/Bubaque/Rubane. The best thing at Bob and Sabine is that they have their own boats; even if u are not keen on fishing, u can still stay there and use it as a home base to visit Orango Island (see the hippos and then have a late lunch on their remote beautiful Beach). Sabine also arranged us to tour Bubaque to see the most beautiful beach we have ever seen) - Bruce Beach, so isolated, no one was there! 6Km of white sand and blue water. We also visited some local village and to just play with the kids for a little. We used a tuktuk that she arranged Touring the islands is quite expensive thats why it’s better if u have a flexible schedule. Sabine will consolidate the tour so that others may join and lower your individual fees (split the cost on the group) unless u want to tour solo and pay the fee. I think visiting the national parks has a fixed price for every lodge operator that they need to pay to the local govt that’s why it’s expensive that’s why if u want to do this, better to do it with a group) We completely disagree with the negative comments here on Sabine. My wife and I speak only English and despite the language barrier, we got by. Sabine was so nice (kindof like a Mom), always asking what we want and what she can do. She has the super caring vibe Her tour prices are all reasonable and it’s listed on her office. Tours around The Bissagos archipelago isn’t cheap but she’s always transparent how much it would cost and if u are flexible u can save a lot. If u look at other places their prices are even more. They serve French breakfast ; - omelette, bread with different spreads and Nutella, and also crepes Lunch and dinner are always fresh catches We are very happy and content. Sabine arranged our visa, hotel transfer and back and tours. I don’t think any other lodge at the moment of this writing can give u the best price for the service and comfort provided Wi-Fi is available in the common area. There are times when power is disconnected and Wi-Fi is turned off since they use solar/generator Bob’s fishing is the place to stay if u are looking the best bang for your buck in the Bijagos To Caytano, Yusuf and Lino, thank u for your everyday smile and service to us!
