very clean, couldn't find the phone charging plug-in, it was a separate little box on the bedside table and the cleaning sign was placed in front of it. otherwise warm, peaceful, coffee in the lobby, hot water for tea.

Check in was fast rooms perfect for what i needed Fast Wifi. Ask for a room with a view hotel sits on top of a Mountain great for a weekend away to relax. Breakfast was sufficient for what you would expect from a budget hotel (the basics) .........

Nice stay. The first room we had, the AC Unit stopped working so they let us switch rooms across the hall that made our transfer of things easy. Rooms were clean and had plenty of room. Water pressure was low and almost aggravating. We smelled new paint and/or carpet scent here and there. Staff was nice. Plenty of parking with not many other guests. Quiet area.

I have given one star, but i truly would have liked to give no stars because this motel was micro in every way. We questioned the quality of the motel as we encountered along peeling railings and dirty steps, but persevered, knowing our room, confirmed by Wyndham, was as we requested, a roll-in shower in a handicapped room. After all, I had the paperwork to prove it. We checked in and were sent to a room on the second floor. A standard tub. My husband went down and returned with a second room key. Handicapped bars, but a tub we could not use. Down we went. "I have a confirmed email reservation," I told the clerk. "So sorry, but we only have one room like that and that room is reserved for a week," she replied. "Bur I have a confirmed email reservation," I repeated. "So sorry, but that room is booked," she insisted. My husband then called other establishments and finally found a room that suited our needs. When does a formerly respected company like Wyndham become so micro? When are confirmed reservations not honored? When do guests find themselves without a room? Perhaps Wyndham knows, but they will be full of micro-answers not worth a tinker's damn. Don't bother to listen.

For my wife’s birthday we rode to Bryson City to ride a train. I looked for a place to stay and chose Microtel Inn & Suites. Was very pleased.

Our queen bed room was tiny and in dire need of repairs. Paint was chipped or peeling in multiple places on all the walls. There was a hole in one wall that appears to have been for a thermostat that was removed (but bare wires still exposed inside) but the hole was never repaired -- now temp is just adjusted by old A/C unit under the window. A light switch plate is broken and sharp on the broken edge. The tub filled up while taking a shower and took about an hour to drain -- this made it obvious that the tub has NOT been cleaned well recently or the cleaning crew would have noticed that. There were also no cups in the room other than 2 paper cups intended for the coffee maker. We thought we'd look for water cups downstairs in the lobby area, but even there they only had the coffee cups to use. Is it so hard to get water cups? The breakfast looked pitiful. After seeing it we decided to go out for breakfast. On the bright side, the check-in person was friendly (but no where to be found when we wanted to checkout so used the Wyndam app instead), the lobby area seemed clean, and the stairways were nicely carpeted (single elevator is very slow). The room was less than $80, but at this one you get what you pay for. But then again, I don't think I'd pay even that to stay at this one again.

Our 3 night stay was very pleasant indeed. Room assigned to us was roomy, clean, nicely furnished and everything worked! Breakfast was sufficient and views from the hotel are awesome. This was our second stay here over the years. It was a nice quiet retreat to come back to after being out and about during the day! I was overall well pleased!

We stayed at the Microtel two nights, March 7 and 8, 2024. We found the room apparently clean, and we had no major issues during our stay. I do think, though, I understand why the chain is called Microtel. Our room was microscopic. No space was allotted for creature comforts in this place--such as a side chair or a decently-sized vanity in the bathroom, for example. After enduring the cramped quarters and crappy breakfasts for a couple of days, I had to remind myself that we were saving beaucoups of money. We spent 10 nights in western North Carolina hotels during our vacation, and this was, by far, our most inexpensive accommodations. That alone made us satisfied with our experience at this Microtel.
