Hotel le Centenaire Brussels Expo

First off, the room was filthy, covered in dust, dirt and generally just falling apart. The toilet seat was like something from a horror movie. There is a connecting door with a large gap at the bottom between the room we were given and the guests next door and it's possible to hear every single word and movement the neighbours make. It's as if they are in your room. Choosing this place for it's location was the main reason we booked but we were unable to stay at the hotel due to the fact just moments after getting into bed we felt the bed bugs coming out and crawling all over us. Given the fact I am in the hotel business myself i gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt (hotels everywhere can face the plague of bedbugs) but after noticing the bugs I checked the mattress and can assure you that this hotel has had this problem for a long time and clearly chooses not to take the action necessary to eradicate the infestation. The bugs were large and their colony very well established. Upon reporting this to the front desk staff they first tried claiming the bugs had flown in from the window (not a chance that this could be the case) and then they stated they would refund us and we could go elsewhere. Despite this being a huge inconvenience we left and found another hotel to stay at. 2 months  after our stay there is still no sign of our refund and getting straight answers is impossible, so we have paid for 3 nights in a hotel where we spent a total of 1 hour. The management of this place is frankly embarrassing and it's clear they have only 1 thing in mind, taking as much money as possible from their so called guests. I highly recommend you do not make the mistake we did and you find yourself another hotel in the area. This place is not worth it and it's certainly not worth the risk of taking these bedbugs home with you as although you may save a few cents off the cost of the hotel, getting your house treated for Bed Bugs will set you back hundreds of Euros at the very least. Truly the most shocking part of this whole ordeal is the fact that the hotel thinks it's acceptable to charge us in full and refuse a refund.

Smoke in the room The biggest setback of the room was the fact that somebody had smoked in it. I could not get the nasty smell out. Furthermore, it wasn't possible to turn the radiator of, so it was extremely hot and cigaret smelly during the night.

Disapointing No parking even they promised free parking. Room was not ready on time. Manager argued at first and said we must thank her for saying the room will be ready early comparing to other hotels - even that it wasn't ready as promised. Very hot and dusty room - lots of bugs in the room because the roof window was open. The guy said they have no fan. Couldnt sleep all night because of very noisy music even after 2am. Checkout was supposed to be till 12. The owner requested the key back before. At 10 am. Good location and a nice guy at reception but he couln't help us.

Basic but good quality accommodation near expo cen Room was basic but clean and freshly decorated. Hassle free check in and out. In comparison to other rooms in Brussels a good price Local area did not have much in the way of eating options but the centre of Brussels is only 25 minutes away by metro. If you are looking for a room for a comfortable nights sleep but aren’t too fussed about “full service” hotels a good choice to make.
