We booked for 2 nights for a little family getaway. We arrived at 11pm at night and we were very tired of a 9h drive. At check in, me, my hubby and our son did not realize how bad the hotel was. Once we got our keys, we got to the elevator and noticed it was no swept, but hey, we wanted to get to bed. The room was so bad that I put a sweater to cover the pillow and slept on top of all the bedding with my clothes on. When we woke up the next morning, we realized, the entire hotel was extremely filthy. The sofa in the entryway, looks like the bed was just tucked in but not washed. Floors were not swept from previous renovations and nothing was washed. The whole environment felt like we where in a crack house/hotel. Lock on the door was broken. People sleeping at the breakfast area and sitting around in the hallways. We felt extremely unsafe. We wanted to check out in the morning and say we were not staying for another night. At checkout, We waited for 1/2 an hour. No one was at the front desk. Had to ask to the staff coming in if someone could come at the front desk. The reply was just wait, he will come. We requested for a refund for the 2nd night and was denied. He said we needed to let him know 24h before checkout. I tried to explain that we literally just got in at night, slept, woke up and didn't even shower, we wanted to get out. Felt like he didn't care at all and just repeating the policy. I asked for the manager and he looked at me and replied, it's the policy. We figure that it was pointless and we were ready to pay an extra night anywhere else. When you pay for a service and you do not obtain the service as it's supposed to be provided, you expect to get your money back. I always looked for a Wyndham branch as you expect to have a certain level of safety and quality. But now, I am not so sure. Please send some hygiene and quality control inspectors to this hotel as it should be shut down.
