The motel was centrally located in the main street. The facilities were clean and tidy. There was no under cover parking at each unit.

For a budget motel the Argent certainly knows how to look after its guests. I turned up from the nearby coach stop around 9 on a cool night and was pleased to find the aircon had been turned on to heat the room for me. A good hot shower, coffee and biscuits and an extra blanket were all much appreciated after the long coach trip, too. From the Argent it's an easy walk to breakfast at Charlotte's Deli, shops, cinema, the GeoCentre, and dinner at the Demo Club. The Argent is a great starting point for wandering amongst the local architecture and parks, too. Top marks!

I'd have given the Argent 5 stars if I hadn't stayed my first two nights in a v. ordinary room (#1) where I was kept awake by loud tapping and rustling noises from inside the room in the wee hours. BUT the lady manager was wonderful, and arranged a new room for me within minutes. So nights 3 & 4 were spent in a much nicer, less creepy and better kept room. Wonderful! Apart from the odd noises in room one, the motel as a whole was quiet enough with a comfortable bed and pillows plus tea & coffee (and biscuits and water!) in both rooms. The motel is brilliantly situated an easy walk from the centre of town, coach stop and visitor's centre. With the exception of one particular room I'll definitely be staying at the Argent again.

The place was decent, but as motels and hotels move increasingly to having guests check in by methods other than a normal reception desk, I found this place to have the next best method to a traditional check-in and ask for any assistance. People should book to stay to find out!

Motel real close to town centre
It was a comfortable overnight motel stay conveniently located very close to the centre of town. Everything worked well - aircon, fridge, shower, and the basin was in a separate room to the toilet and shower, which was good.
