La plus belle chambre de notre vie ! Nous n’y avons hélas passé qu’une seule nuit mais ferons tout pour y revenir. Hôtel super avec une suite avec terrasse privée formidable. La chambre fait au moins 30m2 la salle de bain facilement 15m2 et la terrasse privée est très vaste et offre une vue sur le port et le reste de l’île.

What a marvellous hotel this is family wedding on Arran I had a beautiful room on Ground floor which opened out onto a private garden and was very pleasantly surprised to find my daughter grand daughter and great granddaughter in the next room with their garden adjoining mine we would not have been able to plan this so thank you all at The Douglas Rooms perfect food delicious and views and gardens to die for !

Everything about our stay at the Douglas was beyond our expectation. Friendly staff who went the extra mile to insure we were well taken care of during our time on the isle of Arran. Food was excellent. Our entire party of 9 (five rooms) all want to return again in the future.

Two day stay in Arran to perform at the Arran Festival of Music. My accommodation was elsewhere, but I went to the Bistro in the Douglas on both days for evening meals. High quality meals cooked to perfection at prices which you would expect to pay for food of this standard. The first night I had a relaxed meal and I found it an enjoyable place to linger over a few courses. The second evening I had a deadline, and this time the one course was served promptly but to the same high standard. The bar has plenty staff front of house and presumably in the kitchen too. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed at The Douglas for one night only. We will definitely be back. The room was big, clean and comfortable. With a huge comfy bed! The staff were fantastic. I couldn't fault this place. Breakfast was 5*, again staff so friendly and provided excellent service.

We stayed for 4 nights during the Arran Folk Festival and what a treat it was to stay in such a lovely hotel. The staff where all excellent, helpful, friendly and caring... even when the bar was ragingly busy with visitors and musicians! Fabulous spotlessly clean room with views over the bay and towards Goatfell. Good breakfast menu with quality ingredients in all such a great experience!

Fantastic hotel! We walked the coastal path, which is not for the faint hearted! Coming back to The Douglas after 17 miles walking was just the tonic. Friendly, welcoming staff, gorgeous room, delicious food, comfy beds, spotless rooms and delicious breakfast was just what was needed. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel so welcome

We stayed here for 2 nights during our 3 week touring holiday of Scotland. The Douglas hotel is just a Minutes drive from the ferry terminal. It has a very modern vibe and is decorated and furnished to a high standard. Our room was lovely - both the sleeping area and the bathroom were very spacious. It was one of the more expensive places we stayed at but we felt it was worth it! It was nice to have big mugs for our early morning in room cuppa - we found most places have smaller cups on their hospitality trays. Our only negative was that we did experience some nighttime noise which we later found out came from the hotel laundry. If TA allowed half points, I’d deduct half a point for this. But a lovely hotel overall which we were sorry to leave.
