We had the luxury of the 4 poster room again. All of the the hotel staff that we met were very pleasant and helpful. The pool/jacuzzi/sauna facilities are very good. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. All this and 3 nights for the price of 2! We especially like the location in the New Forest and proximity to Brockenhurst's facilities. We were very satisfied with our second stay this year at the Balmer Lawn.

Stayed for a night with a big family group to celebrate a special birthday and had a fabulous time. The hotel facilities and dining were excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make it a truly memorable experience. Special thanks to Samantha and the team for accommodating our additional requests and making us feel so welcome and thoroughly looked after.

Four of us went for lunch. The food was good with a varied choice for all tastes. Service was good with friendly attentive staff. The only criticism was that they were very mean with the Tonka Bean Cream Anglaise got the dessert (two of us had to share a spoonful - how mean and no offer for more).

Stayed for a 1 night romanic break and we both really liked the hitel. Lovely hotel, great decor in the main areas which was very fitting for the handsome building. Friendly staff at checkin / out, dinner, breakfast and the bar. The food was good and overall just a lovely atmosphere.

Excellent hotel made us feel very welcome. Evening meal delicious, pricy but worth every penny. Superior double very good. Shower not so good but in an old property. We will be back soon. Set in a great location. Many visitors had their four legged friends and they were also made welcome, in fact we will bring Margot our cockerpoo next time.

I was given a £600 voucher as a present to stay here for a weekend. Feedback as follows: 1. Was charged £100 on arrival as a pre-authorisation. 2. Restaurant was OK but the steak we had was very tough. They charged me a gratuity on departure! 3. The Spa and pool was overrun by children. 4. At Breakfast we were told we had to pay for coffee!! 5. It took me months to get my money refunded that they owed me. 6. There was a wedding at the hotel on the weekend We stayed and people were running up and down the hallways all night long screaming. We would never stay again and you can get far better hotels for £600. It felt like they were just trying to squeeze more money out of us whenever they could which probably works with some of their Rich clients.

In July ‘24 I booked, directly with Balmer Lawn, a double room for Dec for us as a Christmas treat. I paid a £80 deposit. I have been contacted by them to say the booking can’t be upheld as they are fully booked. I struggle to believe that in July the hotel was fully booked for Dec. And if so, why has it taken four months to inform me of this? One wonders if our room has been resold at Christmas prices. A horrible thing to do to people and their Christmas plans. Balmer Lawn “pride themselves on great service”. Hmmmm. This doesn’t feel great! I was offered the chance to book alternative dates but we have little confidence in entrusting our Christmas celebrations with Balmer Lawn. We have booked a hotel down the road from them.

Incredibly tired & dated rooms. Noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, from hearing word for word the tv in the room next door to hearing ever single person walking past your door, even hearing the breakfast buffet dishes being opened in the restaurant below! Don’t bother passing on your experience either, they just ignore it. Give it a miss.
