The Filly A convenient pub set just outside of Brockenhurst, ample parking and a comfortable beer garden which is where we had our lunch on a beautiful March day. The premises look well appointed and comfortable and spacious inside dining area, I can’t comment more as we spent our time outside. We opted for a sandwich as we were booked in at the Indian for evening meal more about that later UNFORTUNATELY the sandwich was very disappointing it reminded me of the sandwiches that British Rail used to sell in their buffet cars in the 1970 doughy sliced loaf, skimpy filling and served with nothing to give it a bit of glam, no garnish not even a few crisps, this perhaps wouldn’t have been so bad however they wanted £9 for this culinary disaster.

Wonderful stay, super hosts, couldn't ask for more The welcome I received was super and, from the get-go, all the staff were extremely happy to help in any way, possible. Martyn was a super star with nothing being too much trouble or inconvenient! I had the rather embarrassing situation of having my (company) credit card declined upon arrival however, with a simple smile and very pleasant attitude, Martyn waved away the immediate situation with a view that 'we can look at it again, tomorrow'. Unfortunately, the beer was too good and the room too comfortable for me to make evening dinner. 6 hours of driving pre-arrival also played a part. I certainly wish I had made dinner because the menu looked wonderful and the breakfast the following morning was simply exquisite! Warm croissants followed by a cooked breakfast didn't help my waistline but it certainly made me feel extremely content! Overall, and I commented the same when (thank goodness) my card worked the following morning, I will CERTAINLY be back once work brings me to this beautiful part of the UK once more.

An Inn to be Visited!! A fab little inn. So pleased i found thus place to stay, situated on outskirts of Brockenhurst village. Welcomed by Manager Dave Hutton who explained everything we needed to know re booking in process, breakfast times and info regarding evening menus. Shown to room which was absolutely perfect and the little touches inc toiletries, home made cookies with wide range of teas/hot chocolate/water/milk in fridge. Nothing was to much trouble when speaking to sny of the staff. This is a dog friendly inn for dog lovers. Constructive criticism: May be an idea to put some type of air freshener/room scent on stair/corridor leading to rooms, purely as Non-doggy owners notice the very strong smell of dogs, particularly if the dogs have wet coats etc after walks.

We stayed at the hotel here which has around 5 rooms . The rooms are well decorated and modern with a lovely large bed . It has lovely toiletries and underfloor heating which means in winter it’s very warm too . The rooms have climate control . The staff are really nice . The outside has a lovely seating area and the food in the restaurant was outstanding . My friend had lamb which was delicious and I had shepherds pie which was the best I’ve ever eaten . We shared a cheesecake . The wine was wonderful . The food was second to none and the whole experience was terrific .

I ate at the Filly Inn on Saturday as part of a large group. The food and drinks were good and the service wasn't too bad considering the size of the group. In my experience the quality of service is always lower when a large number of people eat together, however fancy the establishment. This was my first visit here in a very long time, at least two refurbishments ago. I really wouldn't have recognised the inside. The environment managed to feel both modern and cosy. The only problem we had was the restaurant didn't provide individual bills and were slightly short of payments at the end of the evening. The waiter said this was because we hadn't pre-ordered but that wouldn't have helped with the drinks which seemed to cause the problem. He was unable to say which items hadn't been paid for. I would have contacted the manager privately rather than post here but there is no e-mail address or mobile phone number given to contact them on.

Lovely food.. cosy log fire on a cold and wintry evening.. and Charlotte was a great hostess or was she a waitress!? Anyway she made us feel very welcome which was nice. The food we had was delicious and good sized portions. The evening we were there it was a very quiet Monday.. so it was a really relaxing place to be.
