Good 4 star hotel. Great spa and gym . Late check out could be better priced.

Nice overnight stay with friends. Deal included room, evening meal (£25 allowance pp) and breakfast. Hotel was bigger than I expected and there was a wedding and a birthday party but we didn’t really notice them. Lots of different seating areas and a couple of bars. Good leisure and fitness centre. Also a tennis court and play area. Nice grounds and outdoor seating areas if the weather had been better. Big car park. Room was in the Pavillion annexe so a few steps outdoors to get to main building. Decor was outdated but it was very clean and spacious with a patio on ground floor/balcony on upper floors. Comfy bed and pillows. Tea and coffee and other usual facilities. Staff very friendly from check in to waiting staff in restaurant. Mostly quiet except for children running up and down the corridors/stairs but that’s down to the parents 🙄 not the hotel. Food in the Flame restaurant was very good. Pub 5 mins walk down road was very accommodating too. Handy location off A417. Returning customers get 10% off. Only downside was not being able to get a hot drink in the restaurant or bar after 10pm. Very unusual in a hotel. I was desperate for a cuppa after dinner while we were sitting and chatting quietly in bar but had to wait until I got back to room, which was a bit late. Wasn’t the only one who asked and was disappointed. Shouldn’t be difficult to organise. Maybe a machine in the lounge area? I’ll take my insulated mug next time!

A Big Thank You to Martin, The General Manager who was just great. Very Welcoming and Terrific Problem Solver ..... although to be fair to the hotel, the problem was not too serious. A mention about Tiffany on Reception who was also sympathetic and helpful with a Super Smile. After a very unhappy stay in Steeple Aston the night before, it was refreshing to find a Caring & Resourceful Team at The Blunsdon. Certain Aspects could be improved such as the Food Choice on a Sunday Evening. But all in all, a good 8/10.

Having used this Hotel on many occasions for stays and for dining experiences I was very disappointed this time around. Check in was not straightforward as they couldn’t find my booking, only to be told I’d booked on a third party site. Since when has Best Western been a third party to their own hotels ?? I notice just how dated and run down the hotel was looking. Seating in the main areas was showing signs of age with tips and damage. Staff weren’t as friendly as previously, they didn’t speak first, only when spoken too. The numbering wasn’t the easiest when it came to finding our room. It was noticeably dated in our room and also not of the cleanest. Pictures, mirrors and lights had a covering of dust as did the wardrobe. The room had a slight odour which we said was maybe the “Air Conditioning” system. Don’t be fooled, this isn’t an AC system, it’s a hot air system. The rooms get very stuffy at night as you’re not able to open any windows as the room doesn’t have any. It has French doors however being on The ground floor it’s not possible to have the door open for the night. Breakfast was an extremely poor experience, in fact probably the worst ever. It’s all self service, from the tea and coffee through to the toast. The coffee flasks AND the hot water were all empty. No vegetarian options were available on either of the hot or cold serveries. It felt more like an old canteen environment with the empty sounding room. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, cobwebs hanging from the windows and ceiling all around and above the food serving area. Having been told to sit anywhere it was very diff with over a quarter of the tables still having dirty dishes and food on them. All in all a very disappointing experience for what was a getaway for my wife and I. And reception weren’t interested in our experience at check out !! Definitely won’t be staying here again unless they drastically change, which I very much doubt

Great party held in the Garden Room on Friday 13th September. Food was served quickly and hot. Drinks were served for our arrival drinks perfectly. Excellent service from the receptionists down to the bar staff in the Garden Room. Very helpful. A member of the house keeping even helped us into our room as our key stopped working, saved us a trip to reception. Great spread at breakfast, make sure you save room for all the options. I’d highly recommend this hotel for an event, meal or just a night away.

Stayed here the weekend, was given an upgrade to an executive room with balcony - however I didn't think the room was very executive, it was situated in another building away from the main hotel with garish tartan patterned carpet and lots of green metalwork, was very prison like walking to our room, and although the room size was very big, the furniture was old fashioned and the bathroom needs modernisation, very hard to flush the toilet, took two hands to press the flush in the wall!! Also I have never stayed in a hotel that had a clock on the wall that ticked loudly all night! Very disappointed overall. Best part about the room was the view. Staff friendly enough and breakfast choice was good, although there were no eggs available when we got there, they were being cooked, would have been an idea to replenish items before they actually ran out.

Went for a wedding party, staying overnight. Everything was absolutely excellent, at a reasonable price. Staff super-friendly and helpful, rooms okay, BBQ food at the wedding party outstanding, breakfast good. Not a very modern building, but so-what if the rest is great.

Lovely hotel. No swimming pool Monday to Friday- they let the pool out for children’s swimming lessons. Shame - we booked this hotel for the leisure facilities and left disappointed. Manager said it was just how they run it, so bad luck! So not much customer service either. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU WANT TO USE LEISURE FACILITIES- it’s not advertised correctly.
