Quiet rural location on a working farm yet convenient for sight-seeing. Hosts are friendly and helpful with suggestions about the area. Our room and beds were comfortable and ensuite immaculate. Karen provides a delicious and extremely generous breakfast with everything one could desire. We enjoyed the tea tray in our room with fresh scones and cookies on arrival. A lovely place. Highly recommend.

A warm welcome at this peaceful, clean, comfortable b and b. Karen is an excellent hostess and provides a wonderful breakfast as well as providing delicious home baked scones. Ideally situated close to the A66. Within easy reach of the Durham and Yorkshire dales. A great spot for birdwatchers and walkers.

Very comfortable ensuite room in old farmhouse. Lots of thoughtful extras like scones and jam in the room. Friendly hostess, nice garden and our room was very quiet, overlooking garden and fields. The breakfast is exceptionally good. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely peaceful rural location, just outside Brignall village. Very welcoming with a delicious scone treat waiting for you. Clean, spacious comfortable room with en suite. Several tasty breakfast options including of course a super cooked one. Great location for Barnard Castle and environs, with Bishop Auckland and the upper Tees within easy reach. Don’t miss the walk to the old church and a visit to Egglestone Abbey.

Excellent hosts, very comfortable room with good facilities. Lovely dining room and great breakfast. Lovely quiet position on a farm to the south of Barnard Castle. Beautiful views from the bedroom and the garden. One of our best stays and we have stayed in many places around the UK.

We stayed here previously just for one night and were so impressed we came back again. We loved our stay here. The location is very rural with undisturbed views and is tranquil. Despite being a working farm, we were not disturbed. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Karen is a great host, leaving scones and biscuits in the room for an impromptu tea when you arrive. The room overlooks the garden and then fields and on a clear day there are fantastic views. Karen is extremely helpful and there is information about places to eat. Having a car or transport is a must, but there is guest parking. We enjoyed hearty well-cooked breakfasts and there is a buffet with cereals and fruits/yoghurts. Karen is very accommodating and is able to tailor breakfast to your taste and there is plenty to satisfy the biggest appetite. We had a lovely relaxing stay and we’re sorry to leave. We will definitely return.
