Although promoted as a luxury resort, Silver Birches is showing its age. Was here with family, and we were disappointed really. Utensils drawers and kitchen cupboards needed a good wipe out – lots of crumbs and were grimy. There was only limited cleaning gear provided to do this with – so we went to the local shops, bought some stuff and tidied up the place ourselves – before we even unpacked the car. The bathrooms had a slight pungent smell about them – urine? Or just musty – I was not sure. And we could not get the TV to tune into normal “Free To Air” TV. As well the house itself was a bit run down – doors that did not shut properly, fly wire screens with holes in them or which did not sit flush in the window space. All in all, a bit second-rate really. We have stayed in other places in the Bright area before, but don’t think we will be back here.
