Hotel Stockalperhof

We arrived 1pm at the hotel and the reception told us to come back after 2 hrs. However, she suddenly told us there is a room available and gave us the room key immediately hence we were able to check in earlier and rest ealier at our room. We were very happy with their service and prompt arrangement.

Modern hotel. Comfortable and clean. No issues at hotel. Some parts of the walk from train station to hotel are cobblestones walkways so not so easy to roll luggage.

Very close to the Brig station, friendly staff and good size room. However the hairdryer is not working properly and hot water turn very cold sometimes

The location and the surrounding of the Hotel are in the center of Brig. Well located from the railroad station. The rooms are OK but without air conditioning. The rooms are very warm on hot days in summer. The receptionist was not very friendly or welcoming and did not communicate effectively! The breakfast (which in our case was included in the room price) was not up to any standard. There were only left-over small pieces of bread, the coffee machine looked like it had not been cleaned in days, the fruit bowls were empty, the scrambled eggs were cold and looked like they had been placed there are 7:00 AM (we were in the breakfast room at about 8:45 AM). Shot summary: terrible and not worth any amount! After breakfast we gave our feedback to the person at the reception (see above comment). She did not answer anything to our complaint and went on with her normal business! It seems that this Hotel goes on the principle that tourists come once and never again! So why should we, the Hotel, care about our customers! Once there and never again!

Expensive for what you got. Small room in roof with nice but little balcony. What annoyed me was that despite sending three messages welcoming me they didn’t send useful info like where to park in car park to be only 10m from hotel. Critical is you are disabled. Critically not 10 meters for disabled as there are steps so have a long walk around instead to the front of the hotel . The car park is close public car park but cobbled streets to front of steps to the back. Maybe send fewer messages and say park level 2 at far end and take lift to x etc… also when arrived with mobility scooter why put me in a room where lots of turns and narrow bits whilst next door is straight in and out? And available. Again so surprised that reception is only open 3pm to 4pm.. says short of staff so why not take a rest in afternoon? Switzerland has a different plug socket to rest of Europe.. surely an adapter for French/ German / Italian plus sockets might be useful for travellers ? A little cost to the hotel to lend out? Breakfast was very basic. No English breakfast tea but some greens teas? Maybe I am out of touch with today’s world?
