This is really such a great hotel. Loved the room, the decor, the extras, the service and the amazing breakfast. All top notch style but good value prices. Have stayed in 3 different rooms at different times and each one is individual yet high spec. Look forward to returning soon.

We stopped here for a lunch, drawn in from the High St to the sunny courtyard. Despite problems with their IT, the staff were very attentive and friendly, explained what was happening, and the food was worth the wait. Really good food, very tasty, nicely presented, good value too. Thank you 😊

Love the hotel, courtyard and breakfast. However made a huge mistake booking The Snug double room. It is ridiculously small, approx 18inches from bed to walls. In need of a paint and window that only had a top opening covered in cobwebs. We had to step over our case to get to the ensuite. We would go again but to a different room. Feeling disappointed as booked for husbands birthday.

We held our wedding reception in the Hayloft at the Bull Hotel and had such a lovely time (despite the rain)! The team went out of their way to help us and ensure we were enjoying ourselves on the day. The food was great and the portions were very generous - we had so many comments from guests about how good it was. The pricing is incredibly fair considering how you much you get! We stayed overnight and our room was beautifully designed, taking into consideration the heritage of the building, and the roll top bath was an added bonus. The breakfast offering the next day was also delicious. We would 100% recommend and would definitely stay again! A special thank you to Kerry, Merlin and Sophie, and anyone else who helped out on the day :)

Fifth solo visit in last four years. Most recently in Rm 207 (for the second time) which I think they classify as a deluxe double, or similar. Well appointed room with all necessities. Generous hospitality tray. Comfortable bed, pillows & linens, and a larger space than typical. Clean, well maintained, and efficient daily servicing. Good sized bathroom. Courtyard-facing, valuable on a market day, but the seagulls provided a 3am wake-up call. Short of the hotel employing a Falconer I'm not sure there's anything they can do..! It's a (close to) seaside town after all. Staff all professional, friendly, & efficient, as always. Apart from breakfasts (v.good) just had a dinner & lunch. Former, chicken caesar, was very lacklustre (underdressed, too small salad sizing, had to be reminded of the chicken which subsequently arrived barely edible / very dry) while the lunch sandwich was excellent. The hotel is very suited to the town. Somewhat bohemian, little bit "shabby-chic", artsy. Little bit "too cool for school"...Probably the best space in the town center. One thing - although I know my way around they could help new guests by explicitly providing directions to the hotel car park. Perhaps they do but I don't recall seeing anything tough perhaps because I'm tagged as a returning guest?

We stayed 12 years ago and decided to come back, for nostalgic reasons, with our children to do a bit of fossil hunting. Overall I do like The Bull - it is quirky and cosy but there are several things that are ignored by management etc. We had a family room with a separate bunk room. This in itself was good but actually the top bunk is too high and hasn't an appropriate rail on it. Fine for a 9 year old plus. There were two bathrooms which was a nice surprise however the shower room could hardly fit a cat, let alone swing one. Nowhere in here to put anything down. One hook on the door which was incapable of holding a towel. The bathroom was better but again zero surfaces. Heated towel rail wasn't working (expect it only works when main heating is on). Tap dripped. Iron didn't work. Bedroom - again zero places to put anything or hang anything much. Fullers insist on these old fashioned folders and information stands which take up all the room. No plug near a mirror or anywhere you could sit to do your hair. The seagulls are a flipping nightmare - squawking all night. I know it's the seaside so what can you do, but needless to say I was pleased when we reached our next destination far from the coast! Breakfast- apparently you can enjoy breakfast only if you come down by 8am so we enjoyed our second morning. Croissants, yoghurt and compote and hot food all lovely. First morning at 9.30 they had run out of fruit and croissants and juice. Our hot food took 45 mins to come to us (it was tasty though). Overall, it's very good value, quaint and interesting and perhaps a bigger room might be better. If we'd been staying longer I'd have complained about the above but couldn't be bothered to move rooms. So, more feedback for management than anything else. Think the rooms need a bit of a rethink.

I have been a customer at The Bull Hotel for 40 years. Recently, I have used it with groups of friends for French Conversation and Story Traders. Today I went with a group of friends for a story writing workshop. We used one of The Bull’s private dining rooms which has a lovely atmosphere- perfect for writing and sharing stories. We were served lunch in the Stables. Throughout the organisation of the day beforehand and in serving us today, the staff were absolutely wonderful. They made allowances for interesting lunch requests, found dishes that were both vegan and gluten free, and packed up doggy bags for those that couldn’t eat all the food at lunchtime. They even brought drinks tous rather than us have to struggle with them through doors and across the courtyard.

This pub chain (Fullers) owned place is, like Bridport itself, not a place to visit! The hotel is ancient and, at best, furnished eclectically! It is in need of a good clean and redecoration! What an American would call characterful I suppose but I would call incredibly overpriced! The bathroom was cast in a yellow, mellow light with a tiny light over the sink where there is nowhere to put “her stuff”! Oh, and apart from two bathrobes (why?) hanging on a rail, there are no other hangers nor a wardrobe to hang anything nor drawers to store anything should you be staying longer than one night - good luck! The food was at best average (and that is a push) and, no doubt, arrived at the kitchen in portion controlled bags to be heated and plated! Our pre dinner drinks arrived after our starters! I had THE smallest squid rings EVER although lifted by a very good romesco sauce. The feta mousse consisted of the scrag end of lettuce, three of the tiniest bits of water melon and crumbled cheap feta with no dressing creating a melange of blandness! The extremely polite and keen young men, who were more than let down by the food, were kind enough to take it off the bill… Mains were ok but not worth the money! So! The good points were the staff/bed and the bad points everything else!!

Great check in , breakfast and comfortable bed . The 30 plus steep narrow stairs to the bedroom were very difficult and dangerous with luggage .worst of all was the three huge pictures of insects taking up the wall facing me as I slept .I mean huge . Really unsuitable and off putting to return here . A quiet room at the back is not so quiet as the noise from the kitchen generator pervades all day .
