Hotel fine as always but restaurant was awful. only bar area open, waitress with attitude, over cooked/burnt food, closed before 10pm as one of the few staff wanted to go home. Breakfast even worse. Coffee machine broken, no decaf, no white bread, no bacon, no fried eggs and the food that was available was very bad. only the Premier Inn can keep item under a heat lamp for 2 hours yet they are still cold.

First impression was that of a tired hotel. Reception area very dirty and the customary cigarette ends all around the entrance. Corridor carpets filthy also. I was on the ground floor so maybe that gets more foot traffic than other floors but still very dirty. Room was again a bit tired. Laminate peeling off the table etc but I have to say the mattress was fantastic. Slept very well. The breakfast was a disaster. Got to the restaurant at 9am. No bread for toast!! Orange juice etc seemed to be on ration because I literally had to ask 3 times for this and apple juice. Hot food seemed to also be on ration. I literally had to scrape the bottom of the beans pot to get 1 spoonful out. At this point I really couldn’t be bothered asking as I felt I was starting to be a nuisance for having to ask for the things that should already be out! I spoke to other guests and they were also of the same opinion that this was the worst Premier Inn breakfast they and I have had. Really not up to the usual standards. I’m a business booker account holder and travel extensively. Always stay at Premier Inn but this was by far the worst.

Room not bad for basic, bed very hard and pillows hard so poor sleep. Restaurant I do not recommend, breakfast cold and evening meal you wait a long time and considering it’s feb there were a few annoying flies so good knows if these had landed on the breakfast under heat lamps

We were very dubious about booking here due to the past negative reviews but because of our past experiences with Premier Inn’s and its ideal location we decided to bite the bullet and give it a bash. Being located a few minutes drive from the M5 made it so easy to get to with the added bonus of having a Shell fuel station next door which also had a Subway and Greggs; so getting a quick snack to go was not a problem. The town centre of Bridgwater is about a 30min (2 Mile) walk away or by taxi about a £9 fare away. The Excellent Golf Club of Enmore Park is located about 15 minutes drive away which was the primary reason for our visit to Somerset as well as enjoying a few days getaway. We stayed for 4 nights and found our rooms adequate for our stay. One was located on the ground floor and the other on the 1st floor. There were signs displayed which made locating the rooms easy. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff we encountered to be friendly and welcoming. As part of the check-in we were asked if we wanted to upgrade from the unlimited breakfast option to the meal deal package but we declined as we had other plans for evening meals. The rooms had all the usual amenities except for air-con, they did stay warm throughout our stay with the thermostat set to 18 degrees and both sets of windows shut. The internal windows did help keep out a lot of the sounds from outside but with a main road, a fuel station and a fair few lorries going past there was always going to be some noise which unless you’re a very light sleeper shouldn’t be an issue. Although this isn’t the hotels fault there was a poor mobile phone reception during our stay due to a few masts being out of service in the area so it was a good thing they provided free Wi-Fi. It was a little slow and did struggle with keeping a connection at times however with a little patience I did get to watch the football on my phone and also use Youtube. The breakfast we found to be a little disappointing and somewhat frustrating but it didn’t stop us from eating as it was so convenient for us. We didn’t want to eat too early but at the same time not too late so 3 out of our 4 breakfasts were at 8am the other one at 9am which felt reasonable as they had it advertised they were serving breakfast until 10.30am. In the busier summer months I can see that it would be very busy but in a cold wintery January there was only a handful of tables eating at 8am and when we ate at 9am I don’t think anyone else came in after us that day. The food was edible but not hot (luke warm at best) and assuming that it isn’t usually busy after 8am they didn’t seem to replenish anything so unless you asked a staff member for more you was limited to what was already out. That said the vegan in our party did enjoy their breakfast as the sausage and bacon was cooked fresh to order for them then once they arrived at the table they could proceed to get the rest of the breakfast from the buffet selection. We did

The room was dorty and the bathroom was filthy. Limescale all over the glass, handles and corner of the shower cubicle. The food in the restaurant was very poor. There were two members of staff who had to man the kitchen, bar and reception for the hotel. They weren't trained to do all the job and this caused me and the party of people I was with to be very late. There was no one at reception the two times I went to complain. I left very unhappy and woukd like a refund.

This has to be the most disappointing Premier Inn we have stayed in. We had booked an accessible room because I broke my knee earlier in the year and struggle getting in and out of the high baths that are usually in Premier Inns. We were expecting a wet room or walk in shower but instead got a low bath without a plug. The hotel is very tired looking and could do with a complete refresh, the carpets in the rooms and public areas need replacing and the restaurant, I use the term loosely, is very disappointing. We had booked a table for Friday evening, but when we arrived we were told that the kitchen was closed. Sunday morning there was hardly any breakfast available and many people left before the warm food became available, the food probably went to waste. The restaurant itself is dull and depressing and also needs a good clean. It used to be a Brewers Fayre and was always busy with good food and open all afternoon and evening. It is now closed after breakfast until 18.00 and closes again around 21.30, depending on how the staff feel, meaning there is nowhere for residents to enjoy a drink if they want to. Outside reception there is a bin that was overflowing with rubbish for 3 days until it was emptied and the grassy areas outside the hotel were also strewn with rubbish. I would have thought that at least someone could go out once a day and collect the rubbish from the grass to make the outside look more appealing. I cannot see the rationale of Premier Inn in letting thriving pubs, Hobbs Boat & Brewers Fayre, go downhill at such an alarming rate, do they not care about their guests and that they might want to enjoy a drink in the evening? The only good thing about this hotel is the free parking, which is a novelty these days.

There was a long list of faults with the room including a badly leaking kettle, wobbly toilet seat, milk pots gone off, only 1 bath towel for 2 people. Request for extra toilet paper not carried out. Room was not clean, there was dust & dirt on the skirting board & under the bed. The replacement kettle & extra towel was left in reception & not put into the room. Was not even acknowledged by the receptionist when we handed in our keys, we appreciate she was on the phone but she did not acknowledge that we were there.

Shocking service from the restaurant staff. Place was closed for a refurbished but said it was open to guests for breakfast, dinner & drinks. When we arrived we went for a drink to be told it doesn't open till 6pm, this was fine so went to enjoy the carnival then returned to the restaurant at 9pm for something to eat. It said on the door open till 9:45pm so we had 45 minutes left of service. It wasn't busy only a few people in there. As we walked in the 3 staff members called time?? We asked if they were serving food, no we don't do food only drinks, thought this bit strange so just ordered drinks then went to sit down and Google somewhere else to eat. They called time again 20 minutes later, the few people in there started to leave which left me & my partner in there. The next minute one of the staff members came over and asked if we wanted our drinks?? They were still full?? They were rushing us out the door so they could go home, not only were they not providing the service they were meant too for guests but were very unwelcoming and rude. We ended up leaving the drinks and having to drive to mcdonalds to get something to eat, so I will not be staying at this premier in again!!

Stayed overnight to break a journey up following a flight. Room was clean and tidy; and reception staff were welcoming. Only issue in the room was the toilet seat was broken and fell off; but other than that no other issues with the room itself. We regularly stay in premier inns and like the fact you can have breakfast for a reasonable price and kids eat free. Understand this hotel is going through renovation with the restaurant however it's still advertised as open as normal for hotel guests and breakfast is served. Advertised serving breakfast until 1030hrs; we arrived at 0945hrs. There was hardly any hot food left on the hot plates; and the continental breakfast was empty (apart from 1 croissant and a couple crumpets). The staff member didn't tell us anything when arrived; and was happy to put through our payment for food. When we noticed there was no food out; asked him whether he could organise some more continental food so we could have food to eat; refused to make any more continental food as "it takes 20 minutes and I shut in 25 minutes; so don't want to waste stock". The fact there was 5 of us and he was still happy to charge us; with no food out to eat; he was very rude and then began to get 'confused' when we said we would leave and get something elsewhere. Not impressed! Have a renovation of the staff too aswell I think!
