We haven't yet had a chance to stay at the Bodie, as we had to alter our plans due to inclement weather during the backpacking trip for which the hotel was to be our jumping off point. But the folks with whom we spoke regarding our change in plans were just so understanding and helpful that we're certain this will be a great place to stay one we get the opportunity (hopefully in a couple of days). Being a guest at the Bodie is definitely a great idea!

Delighted with my one night stay at Bodie hotel. a definite unreserved recommendation. Overall i would say this was one of the best hotels i stayed at in my 24 night 15 hotel road trip around Nevada, Arizona, Utah and California balancing the location, quality and price of stay. Its a lovely small independent hotel, that delivered exactly what they advertised. i enjoyed the classic feel, and the room was comfortable, clean. its light on modern amenities e.g. No TV but the Wifi worked fine to stay in contact - and thats all i wanted. The service was excellent, it was nice to be individually shown to the room, and given personal recommendations on the dining options in town. The location is in middle of the small town, opposite the courthouse and within a couple of blocks of a garage with general store and restaurants. I chose rhinos for dinner and bridgeport inn for breakfast. Bridgeport is an ideal location to visit bodie ghost town state park next day, and well suited on the way to yosemite which ever pass you take. thankfully Tioga pass was open just before we needed it but it was also convenient for our back option of Sonora pass which opened earlier.

Lovely historic hotel under new management. Recently renovated to modern comforts yet historic charm is still present. Common areas off lobby and upstairs balcony to relax! Host was extremely helpful and personable. Highly recommend.

The building is absolutely charming, from the parlor to the guest rooms. The truth is I love the idea of staying at quirky old hotels but often the reality is that comfort and cleanliness come up short. But NOT at the Bodie Hotel! The place is full of character but is also very clean. The owners have done an incredible job modernizing the important things: fresh crisp towels and linen, very comfortable new mattresses, and functional beautiful lighting. The owner was very hospitable and friendly. Easy walking to dining establishments in the little Main Street area. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to several people.

Awesome place with history. Very friendly owner who upgraded our family to two bedrooms since at the time it wasn't booked ( free of an extra charge). Morning coffee in the lobby. Would be nice to have some seating area in the back of hotel one day :). Great place to stay a few nights and do some hikes, see nearby lakes; creeks; hot springs, just to stay close to the nature. We will be back!

If you like a hotel that is different and interesting as well as comfortable, relaxed and welcoming then the Bodie Hotel is for you. Perfectly placed for a visit to the must-see Bodie mining ghost town, this small hotel has been beautifully restored to it's former Victorian glory by the current owners. We liked the town of Bridgeport, it has everything you need for a short stay including an open air hot spring and a couple of very decent eateries (Bridgeport Inn for one). Be mindful that the building is old and not terribly well sound-insulated, so if you are in one of the front rooms you will hear the traffic. Jeff your host is a real character and a mine of information - we loved him!

We loved this place - beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and curated, it oozes character with the look and the feel of the Old West. It’s quirky but in a really good way. The owner, Jeff, is super- helpful and enthusiastic. Would love to return.

Loved our stay this past weekend! Clean and convenient after a long day of driving. It’s cool to be able to sleep in such a historic building. The owner Jeff, was super accommodating. Located on the Main Street of Bridgeport so was able to grab a bite and shop at the general store within steps of the front door. Will be back next time I’m in the area.
